I personally like to wear brighter colors to weddings, but you can’t go wrong with a dress like that! Unless maybe it’s super formal, but if it’s mid day that seems unlikely

IMO black is always classic and appropriate.

Pretty dress, I would absolutely wear it.

When did black become a color to avoid wearing to a wedding?

asianyoushi:  It’s not an issue of wearing black, it’s just that the dress looks like a cocktail dress. Midday summer wedding screams more teatime attire than cocktail.

CurlyCue:  Its been a thing for a long time. Some black is okay, but wearing all black is for funerals not celebrations.

That said I dont really think anyone cares anymore, and you can always dress it up with some bright accessories to look less mournful

a_day_at_the_fair:  there’s now a trend to wear a white at funerals and call it a homegoing.

CurlyCue:  I dont really see that taking off, at least in primarily Christian areas. I think I’d get stoned if I showed up at a funeral in white

I wouldnt want you to get stoned! a_day_at_the_fair:  I have only attended Christian funerals and have seen this in VA, DC, SC, and FL. It’s usually the grieving family wearing white and a few other mourners. My grandfather just passed and we all wore black or dark colors; we are Catholic.
