- Wedding: October 2012
Hello Bees! I was raised a reform jew, but celebrate all holidays, as my mom is Jewish and my dad Christian. The economy took a terrible toll on my family and a lavish wedding is out of the question, which is just as well, since my fiance and I were hoping for a small, rustic wedding anyway. We have a very limited budget, and when I say limited, I mean the absolute most we can spend is $2,000. With that said, we are debating whether or not we should get married at a local state park. The price to hold the ceremony and reception on the grounds is $100, which is refundable upon post-wedding clean up. Great deal! The only problem is that the ceremony location is either in or just outside of an old, restored chapel. I do not feel comfortable being married inside the chapel, though it is beautiful, as it is decorated in a Christian manner. Is it still okay to be married outside, with the chapel serving as the backdrop (on the outside, there are no faith-related aspects)? Let me know what you all think… I really have to get the ball rolling and find a venue soon! Thanks so much and best wishes to all!
