This may seem like a silly question, but my fiancé and I were thinking of staying at a fancy hotel (St Regis) while the rest of our guests at another hotel. Since we will just be staying and will not having any activities there, do you think it’s okay to wonder the grounds and take photos ie first look photos? I ask because I was not sure if the grounds are usually reserved for brides who will actually be having the wedding at the hotel.

Ask the hotel. They may let you, they may want a nominal fee or they may say no.

Ask – the worst they can say is “no”
(or the best, so you know to make alternate plans)
Most hotels are fine with this… hey, publicity!

St. Regis does not let you take pictures unless you are having your wedding there. They are very strict about this.

Definitely ask and find out if they charge any kind of “sitting fee” for taking photos in the hotel if your event isn’t taking place there. The hotel we are staying at for the wedding weekend charges $250 if we want to take portraits in the hotel. :/

I will definitely ask! Plan B would be photos on the beach, but that brings other potential problems such as getting the dress wet and dirty before the ceremony.
You look so amazing. What a beautiful hotel!
