Those are awesome but I would only need about 30...but it does give me something to think about.
Thank you so much!
I have been looking into this alot, but am still undecided on what we will do.
Options I've found are wood or wood veneer invites. They say less processing = eco. I'm not sure, haven't really researched it much.
I've also seen invites screen printed on linen or recycled fabric. I thought that was pretty cool.
My friend also told me about a tree that they call pukapuka here in New Zealand that has giant leaves that you can write on and hold up without wilting for a week. That definitely got me thinking. I'm pretty sure that I can't send leaves internationally, but it's a super cool idea. Maybe there are similar trees in other parts of the world.
I think simlarly to the leaves, having something stamped or written on birch bark would be very eco and very unique looking.
Like I said, I am totally undecided about what we will do, so keep me posted.
Look into Invitesite.com! They have beautiful invites & all of their paper is either cotton-made or recycled. It's a great site to work with too, they're customer service has been great with us. I would definetly check them out. They have a lot of plantable invites too fyi :)
If you only need about 30, it shouldn't be too expensive/hard to screenprint beautiful vintage handkerchief invitations like Grace Bonney of design*sponge (http://blogs1.marthastewart.com/weddings/2009/10/grace-bonneys-stationery.html)
You can make your own paper at home by recycling your old newspapers and magazines. It turns out a bit lumpy, so I'd advise against running it through a printer, but you could screen-print them or handwrite them yourself. :)
Or do a really stylish e-vite/website (I've seen some amazing video invites), if all your guests are net-savvy!
These are all really cool ideas and kind of blew me away! I guess I never knew my invitations could be chic and eco at the same time! Keep the ideas coming and I will make sure to post the semi finalists.
I am really into the recycled paper idea. I wouldn't have that many to make so it shouldn't be that hard. (knock on wood) It will also be a lot nicer on my wallet. The screen printed hankies might be a little expensive but I will do my research!
Thanks Ladies!

So I am wondering if it is possible to find eco friendly invitations. I think I might have two choices but I am coming to you for advice to see if I have more.
1. Recycled paper
2. Buying extras from another bride
Any other ideas or something I am missing? This will probably lead me down a DIY road and a long night with a bottle of wine and the printer but I am gearing up to that.
