Maybe try washing one glass before you buy any more stuff, just to see if it is possible to remove the paint?

$40 for 4 gifts isn’t so much to let go. I’d say re-do them, but maybe this time get all the way done with one before you start the rest, in case you go another route.

You might as well try washing them and see if it comes off.  I made monogrammed shot glasses as favors using the etching cream from Micheal’s and it worked really well.
