Before buying the veil, I may put feelers out for potential buyers (ask friends, post on websites, etc.). If you there’s a lot of interest, you may feel more confident splurging on a more expensive veil. If not, though, you’ll have to reevaluate. I’d also see if there’s someplace in the budget you can make up the deficit (i.e., can you reduce your favor budget by $30-40 so that you can put that money towards the veil?). I totally understand wanting to splurge, especially on your wedding attire, but, like you say, you’ll only wear the veil for 30 minutes, and you may find a more reasonable one that you’re satisfied with.

I have bought things thinking I will just sell it later, now I have a garage full of crap that I need to sell. So for me, no, but you might follow through a lot better than I do, in that case, go for it! But consider the cost of selling- how long will it take? Shipping? Storing it? I know it’s a veil- takes up no room, but can you keep it somewhere nice for the amount of time it will take to sell it….. And this is why I have a garage full of stuff……

I think that’s actually very reasonable for a veil. If you can swing it, go for it, but there it is not a sure thing that you will be able to sell afterward!
