Is It Tacky To Have a Mix of White and Ivory?

I think it’d be tacky if your ivory dress was airbrushed on or if you served the wedding party filet mignon and your guests mcdonalds. No tacky used to describe the colors here… It’s a judgement call – you just have to see the fabrics together. There are a lot of interpretations of white/ivory. Personally, I think it’s fine, since you’re the bride and you can match or not match if you want.

I don’t think it would look tacky. I am sure it can be done to look nice. I suggest going to the David’s Bridal site and checking out the feature that allows you to put colors of dresses, tuxes, and accessories together. It will give you an idea of what to expect. The little people they use to portray people are a little strange, but it might help you.

I think it’d be fine.  Sometimes ivory and white look so close.

I’ll be wearing an ivory dress while holding white flowers and the table covers along with chair covers are white and was worried about this also, but my FI said it would help me stand out and doubt people will notice too much as they aren’t as analytical as we are.  I’m just going to cross my fingers and close my eyes and hope it all turns out okay! haha! Foot in mouth Not much can be done right?

I saw your other post about your dress coming in white when you were told it was ivory. I think as long as you and your FI match it will fine.

No one will notice, I promise! My dress was ivory and my flower girls’ dresses were white. I was worried about this too (one of many miniscule things I needn’t have stressed about, but that’s hindsight…). If you want to PM me, I’m happy to send you a picture of me with the flower girls. But honestly, of the 450 photos I have, only about 3 have us all side by side like that, and it’s still not that noticeable. And at the wedding itself, your flower girls and JBMs will walk down before you and then all attention will be on you and no one will be giving their dresses a second thought. I’m sure it will be beautiful!

AC:  Hey, I am about to get married and my dress is ivory and the flower girl dress is white and my linens are all white.  I am stressing so much about it. When I ordered it I didn’t think about the flower girl or decor.  I tried the sample loved it and ordered it didn’t think about the colour (as it looked white, things happen so fast).  Would I be able to see the picture of your ivoy dress with the white flower girls dress?
