Either way it sucks. I’m sitting here at work staring at the clock, willing 4:30 to come faster. I have chills at my desk and I really want to leave but I just took a couple (more) ibuprofen and am hoping the fever goes down before I actually have to walk home.
You probably think I’m nuts for even being here but I work in Korea where it’s sort of standard to work a full day even when you’re deathly ill. If you aren’t in the hospital you should be at work, basically.
I’m sorta considering going to the hospital at this point actually. I’m really woozy and feeling really out of it… I haven’t had a flu in more than ten years. Honestly though I’m probably safer at work.. if anything weird happened (I passed out or whatever) at least there’d be someone around to notice in my office.
This sucks seriously so much I don’t even.
Just a rant, I guess. Getting it off my chest.

Bleck. If you really think you have meningitis not the flu, sitting at your desk is most likely NOT in your best interest. Is your neck stiff? It is kind of a cardinal symptom of viral or bacterial meningitis. Of course being sick with the flu is pretty miserable too, especially if you have to be at work! Don’t they know that is how this stuff spreads, when no one stays home when they get sick?

@chasesgirl: Yeah… it’s kind of stiff. If it doesn’t feel any less stiff tomorrow I’ll go to the hospital. And it’s a work ethic thing. Everyone wants to be seen as strong and diligent so they push themselves too much and end up infecting everyone else. -_-
Also I’m a teacher at an elementary school and if I had a nickel for every time I’ve seen an elementary school kid cover their mouth when they coughed I’d have ZERO nickels. I love them but they are disgusting. I’m stunned this is the first time I’ve been this ill.

Sounds terrible, whatever it is. Is there a line you can call that tells you whether your symptoms are severe enough to go to hospital immediately? You know your body best… if it really feels unusual, I hope you’ll go. Better safe and foolish looking than the alternative.
Feel better soon!
