My SO is planning on proposing any day now and we are thinking of a Sept 2013 wedding. Can this be done?? I’m worried theres wont be enough time. Alot of people say you need to book a year in advance for a church and a banquet hall. I’m getting pretty nervous that we wont be able to make it happen 🙁

@blueberries123: Lots of people get married with an engagement of 6 months or less. A decent portion of those people get married with an engagement of a few months or less. You just need to be prepared to be a little more flexible and for the fact that you are less likely to get your favorite vendor for everything (venue, DJ, photographer, florist, officiant ect.) since they may already be booked.

It can definitely be done, but keep in mind that your first choice vendors or dates may already be booked, Sept is a very popular month to get married. We started looking at venues 16 months out and two were already booked for ever Saturday in Sept.

Agree with the PP’s. Best of luck in your planning though! I have friends who just started planning for an Aug 17th 2013 wedding. They originally had sept 7th as their date, and couldn’t find a venue they liked and in their budget for Sept. They had to move it to Aug. But, Aug 17th is nearly a year to the day from when they became engaged. So in a way, it worked out pretty well 🙂

A wedding can be planned on any time frame. Just remember, if you are planning for September 2013, some of the bigger/more popular wedding venues may be booked already. We looked at a few of those types of venues and they were booked a year in advance or more- especially during “wedding season.” However, many other venues will still be available, you may just have to be a little more creative. We booked our September 2013 wedding just under a year in advance, but all of September was still open. Our venue did not change price for Saturdays or popular wedding months, so that was helpful because sometimes September weddings are more expensive than an August or November wedding depending on your venue. September is a great month though, that’s why everyone wants to get married in September 🙂

I got married in 8 months with no problems and little stress for $5000. It was beautiful and did not look rushed or cheap. It is very doable!!
