I had an interview on Wednesday the 25th for an executive secretary position at a large church. I honestly planned on sending a thank you card but for various reasons, I just didn’t get to the store to buy thank you cards. Then I was unexpectedly busy and just didn’t get around to doing them. I’m not trying to make excuses, I’m fully aware that I dropped the ball on this.
Anyway, my question is this. Should I send a thank you email now or is it too late? Or should I still send out a thank you card via snail mail today?

LadyBlackheart: Given the time frame, I would send an email thanking them for the interview and stating that you are looking forward to hearing from them.

So, you had the interview last week? I would send the note.

I would send an email. It is very unusual these days to send a paper card after an interview so stick with email.

By note, I meant either an email or a handwritten note. I have been out of law school too long now. They emphasized handwritten notes then, even though everyone had email….

Not too late – send an email!

Not too late at all! Better late than never! At least this way it also shows you are trying to follow up!

Thanks guys! I decided to go ahead and mail off a thank you card via snail mail. She should get it tomorrow or Friday at the latest. Thanks for the advice :). I hope I get this job!
