Is it too much if I go eat at the restaurant with my wedding dress?

I was thinking about doing the same for our destination wedding.  I am going to bask in my bridal bliss all day long dress and all! 😀

@skschick:  I went to dinner in my wedding dress (at a restaurant… we only had 13 people including us so a “real” reception just seemed dumb). With my leather jacket and flip flops I thought it looked pretty cute lol. My dress was not big and poofy though. If yours is a ballgown, I would change, but if it is not huge with a giant train, go for it.

If you don’t mind some attention, do it! I would send you a bottle of wine if I was at the table next to you 🙂

We once closed down a reception and went immediately to the bar. The bride didn’t change (nor did most of the bridal party) and just kept getting congratulations and free booze until closing. I think it sounds like fun! Go for it!

You should totally go out in your dress (no matter what it looks like or how big).  Everyone will be super nice and excited for you — even strangers.

We are having a wedding dinner (not a reception) at a restaurant for our small intimate wedding and I am wearing my dress all night!  Even to the biker bar later!

One of my friends left the end of her reception and she, her new groom, and their friends all went to a local bar/club in their wedding attire. It was hilarious and she continued to dance the night away in her wedding dress.

do it! Enjoy the day, and get as much wear out of the dress as possible!

@skschick:  Did you do it? I imagine I will do the same for my small wedding in Oct.

You should totally go out in your dress! We have a private room in a restaurant for the “reception” so no issue there but I think I will wear my dress when we go out to the bar after too! You only get to wear it once…

I think it depends on how much you enjoy attention.  If you’ll enjoy the “congratulations”, gawking, etc all day, then go for it!

If you’d rather have a private dinner, then change.  You can even change into something more subtly bridal like a white cocktail dress if you like.

Sorry, I know this post is way old but I found it by doing a search asking about wearing my wedding dress to a Brazilian Steakhouse.  I’m concerned that I will get my dress stained up.  It seems most logical to bring a sheet to wear as a bib but that will look rediculous!!!! LOL!  I just don’t see how I can expect to leave unscathed with all that cutting and meat flopping around : (
