No, I am getting married a week before you and I will be sending out my STDs soon. I would've sent them sooner, but since we were so close to taking our e-pics we wanted to wait and use them on our STDs.
Our STD's went out mid December (8 months prior to our wedding) doubled as Christmas cards, same as what you're looking at. I think the timing is fine.
Definitely not. I get annoyed when actual invitations are sent out more than two months in advance because you are forcing your guests to actually make a commitment as to whether or not they can come.. but I don't think it's ever too early for save the dates!
We sent ours out about 6 months before the wedding.
i'm getting married a month after you and we are in the process of ordering ours right now. plan to send them early-mid june. i've already had people asking where they were, as we have a large number of out of town (and state) guests.

I don't think its too early, though it is on the early side. If you have a lot of outta towners, it can't hurt to give them a heads up. The guidebooks I've read suggest doing it between 12-8 months.
@jennifer_espos- We do have several out of towners/out of staters, lol, that's why I wanted to get an early-ish start. Our 8 month mark was this week, so I figured this would be around the right time.

Last July I got an STD for a wedding this June. As long as you're sure on the guest list, send away.
I stuck to the 6 month rule. I think it gives people more than enough time to make plans!
Not too soon! We are getting married the day before you and we'll be sending ours out within the next few weeks.
Normally, I'd wait until closer to 6 months or so, but with how close it is to Christmas and New Years, I think people will appreciate the extra notice!
@amanda.lynn - That's what I was thinking, giving extra notice before the holidays!
I say stick to the 6 months out rule. You don't want to get the side-eye from some of your guests lol. Besides if you wait for the 6 month mark you can also send them hotel accommodation information, which will be helpful.
