(Closed) Is it true you should avoid saying it's a wedding?

I’ve personally found it to be true. Cakes/cupcakes/flowers… even alterations have a hike in price once the word wedding gets out.

LOL… My FI’s colleague advised us, “Go tell them you need cupcakes for a ‘party’, otherwise you’ll be seeing a 100% jump.”

No, I think it’s true. When you mention the word “wedding” the price increases to a crazy percentage. We have been lucky to have found great deals on certain wedding items like cake, centerpieces, dj, videographer, wedding planner (got a 50% discount), and photographer. I would suggest look for vendors who are flexible with working with budgets because some vendors will not work with certain budgets no matter what (at least I have experienced this) and look up vendors who are either starting out or still new in the business.
