Yah, I don’t. I don’t want a sea of heads blocking my view of the wedding party at the front as I’m walking in with my dad. I honestly don’t remember whether we stood or not at the last two weddings I went to. I think people usually do? Is it super weird to ask them not to stand up at all during the ceremony (maybe on the programs or have the officiant say they can remain seated the whole time)? Do you think it would work or would everyone just default to standing up when the bride enters?
Has anyone tried this? Or do you all think I’m crazy? Haha.

@Pinkmoon: I think that most people stand when the bride enters. Even if you engraved your request onto your programs, most people still are going to stand.

It’s kind of a default. People may not see it in the programs, just get your minister to say it ahead of time. People may still stand, its kind of programmed into me anyways when I attend weddings.

I’m not sure how you could politely announce that everyone should remail seated but it’s your day and you should do whatever makes you comfortable.

I think people just automatically does it once the bride enters…it might be hard to not have it happen
