I feel like this is almost a dumb question lol
I’m moving to AZ this month after living in Germany for 7 years. I’ve been doing shows at the same theatre for 3 years and am friends with most everyone here.
Everyone keeps asking if I’ll be having a party and I just can’t bring myself to say anything other than maybe. It feels weird to throw myself a going away party since most everyone seems to have had a party thrown for them (several people moving this summer).
The only exception I can think of is a friend who is a total type A personality. I’m not. I’m just not. I have a feeling that people get the impression that I am.
I know it seems dumb, but it really hurts my feelings that no one wants to plan a nice farewell for me (or even a lame farewell! Lol)
Anyway, what do you think, bees? Is it weird? Am I being overly sensitive?

I don’t think it is weird to throw yourself a going away party. People Probabaly are not throwing you one bc they figure that either you or someone else is already planning the party. Go ahead and plan it and have fun!

I threw one for myself when I moved. I just sent out an invite via FB and had it at a bar, really casual and no pressure. It was a lot of fun and the best part was FI (then SO) surprised me by showing up earlier than I’d expected him during it! 🙂

It doesn’t have to be an official party, just let everyone know you’ll be going to dinner with friends at x restaurant and you’d love to see everyone before they leave.

Problem solved!! One of my good friends is throwing me a party 😀
I am thanking her by treating her to a manicure (and I’m sure some other ways)
