Is it weird to use a girl for the ring bearer?

I’ve never seen it done traditionally, but I see absolutely nothing wrong with it. A girl can carry a ring as well as a boy. I don’t think anybody would judge it either.

Do it!

Etiquette Snob here… lol

There is no RULE on this… so do whatever works for you.

I personally think it sounds adorable and a great way to include a relative from your side of the family.

Hope this helps,

I think it’s a great idea! I don’t think anyone will think it’s strange because she’s a girl. Besides, an 11-year-old can be trusted with the rings while I admit I would be nervous with a 3 or 4-year-old.

She would love the responsibility and more ‘adult’ job, I’m sure. Sounds like a great idea.

I think its a Great idea and to make it even more adorable just call her princess of the ring like some brides call the boys king of the ring.

@futuremrscap: It’s perfectly fine. And at that age, there’s no need to give her fake rings, she might as well carry the real ones.

She could match either the flower girls or the bridesmaids. With girls that age I’ve seen both done – either same colour as BMs, or slightly different like your flower girls are. I think it would look odd to have her matching you, especially when the flower girls aren’t.

Maybe if you want to let her walk with here comes the bride sign instead of pillow. Just let bestman have rings.

One more thing sorry just read about dress color for her. I had a flower girl, two little girls walked with here comes the bride and two 10 year old junior bridesmaids. my colors was purple and silver so i had 6 bridesMaids that wore purple dresses, i had 1 matron and 1 maid of honor they wore silver dresses. My 5 yr old flower girl and two 5 yr old little girls wore purple petal dresses and the two 10 yr old jr bridesmaids wore silver petal dresses so their dress colors went with matron and maid and the 5yr olds purple matched bridesmaids. I’m going to post picture of  the little girls purple and silver petal dresses.

It’s perfectly fine, gender shouldn’t matter

@futuremrscap:  Ring Bearer….the words don’t even denote if it should be a boy or girl)….I was really going to do this…my aunt had a problem with it….(.Undecided eye roll)  but I didn’t care. In the end though I found a better role for all the kids…because there was 2 older ones (girls) I made them banner bearers….so I didn’t have a ring bearer…but I totally think it’s cute!
