I have tried on many many dresses and I fell in love with the Maggie Sottero Auriele dress. It makes me so excited every time I put it on. However, my mother seems to hate it. I am not sure if it is really the dress or it is the cost. Originally she told me $1000 was my dress budget, but then when she actually went shopping with me she said the budget was $800. Either way the dress is $1,300, which is obviously over budget.
Is it worth it to spend the extra money? Has anyone else had experience with a difficult mother. It is very upsetting that she so thoroughly insulted my dress choice. I was so happy about the dress for the past two weeks and now after hearing everything she about how "the dress is wearing me" I am second guessing myself all the time.
Any advice, suggestions, or comments are greatly appreciated. I am so lost.
I attached a couple of pictures of me in the dress.

I wouldn’t stress too much about it. You still have plenty of time before you get married. Keep in mind that if you decide to lose weight, you may want to wait till 8 months before you get married to order your dress.
Keep on looking because with the way the economy is going, I think that a lot of wedding stores will provide better deals. If you live in LA, you can rent a dress instead of buy one or you could try to go to once wed online to find one.

It’s a beautiful dress – and I think you would feel like a princess in it. One thing I’ve learned in planning my wedding… budgets don’t work lol. It’s hard to work with $800 for a gown. I say go for it! It’s beautiful!!

That dress is so pretty and you’ll make a grand entrance to your wedding. The beading work is gorgeous. I’m happy for you that you found a dress that makes you excited. It’s all about how you feel in the dress. That’s how you know it’s THE ONE.
As for being worth it, all wedding dresses aren’t worth the price that is on them. It’s worth it if it makes you happy. Can you reduce some other wedding expenses to balance out the overbudget on the dress? If you can, then go for it.

I am also an Aurelie fan and I really what Aurelie to be my dress.
I do think that the dress is worth the money, however I am running on a very tight budget. My friend is a wonderful seamstress and she told me she could make the dress for under $800.
Its your wedding so you should have the dress you want.
I say go for your dream dress!!

It’s a great dress and I’m sorry your mom is being unsupportive…
Have you tired looking for the dress used?
Has 178 Maggie Sottero dresses, and I didn’t go through all of them to see if they have yours – but you could get a steal. Good luck!!!

I think that the dress is really beautiful!!
To get the pics to attach, you have to copy them into paint to make them smaller and then save it as a jpg.
Would love to see the actual gown on you! That way we could give you better opinions 🙂
