Is it wrong to change my nails after friend paid for manicure?

I think it looks beautiful. I always thought french was very classy and went with everything. It definitely “goes” with your ring! However if you aren’t comfortable with it, change it before your pictures. Those will last forever. You can tell your friend it chipped and it was annoying you.

If I was your friend I would be a bit put out, your nails look nice and will look very classic in the photos

I know how you feel! My friend paid for my manicure when we went out and while I like the color the job they did is terrible.

I ultimately decided that no one would notice the flaws but me so I just left it till it grew out. Now I’m planning on just getting them redone like I would even if I’d loved them from the start

They are very pretty, but if you don’t like them, I think it’s fine to change the polish! It’s so unlikely your friend will even notice in the pictures because it’ll be a while before she sees them. And if she asks, just say that there was a horrible chip on some of the nails and you had to repaint them and were so bummed. Pro manicures never last long for me anyways!

I’ve never had a manicure that lasted more than a couple of days without chipping, so you may have to get your nails touched up or redone anyway.

HonoraryNerd:  I think they look absolutely beautiful, BUT they are your engagement pictures, and you need to love it. I guess you have to decide which is more important to you. The thing I think is great about this manicure is that it is timeless however it still boils down to what you want best. Regarding the flaws though, nobody else will notice. I’m nitpicky like that about my nails too and am NEVER happy with them, but I have resigned myself to that fact that most people aren’t that close to them to notice.

cmbr:  You should try shellac or gels. Lasts 2 weeks without chipping. It’s great

I will tell you that my proposal was a surprise DURING our Christmas card pictures and I totally regret the purple nail polish I had on.  I wish I had gone with something neutral.

That being said, if you don’t like them, change them.  Tell her it started to chip off and you didn’t have a choice if she asks.

HonoraryNerd:  I’m not a French manicure person either.  Just change the polish and tell your friend that they chipped.  🙂

a_day_at_the_fair:  love gels.  The only reason I get a manicure every two weeks is because my nails grow too fast!! They don’t chip at all!!!

fancymichelle:  Exactly! If it weren’t for my nails growing out or me getting bored with the color, there’d be no reason to get them redone

I think they look really good, personally. Classic and shows off your ring. But if you really hate them and want to change them, just tell your friend that they chipped and you had to get them done again.
