Oh, gosh…I’ve never posted photos here before. Here’s a link.
I love this dress. It takes my breath away! We’re hitting the ground running while we wait for my ring to ship, because we want to be married in under a year due to relatives having some health problems. All together, everyone’s putting some idea together of what we want. Small, simple. I’ve been toying with the idea of a taco bar(or something equally delicious and approachable) as long as it was presented nicely like this, maybe. http://www.wolfgangpuck.com/assets/images/micro-sites/weddings/menus/summer_weddings/summer_image5.jpg
The wedding itself hopefully in a little chapel somewhere. Something charming like that.
Alright, so. I know I have time, but I just want your honest opinion, bees. Would this dress look completely out of place given the limited details I’ve provided? Either Detalle or Enzoani’s Dabra(without the belt) are styles I’ve had my eye on and have considered shortening the train.

IMO, you’re the bride, and I think you can wear whatever you like. I don’t find the Detalle too formal. A wedding happens once (or in my case twice LOL) and you should be as formal or as casual as you want.

No! Wear it! Wear whatever you want! It’s your day and your dress.

Floofy: Girl, it’s your wedding. You wear WHATEVER you want! I had a very elegant Paloma Blanca dress and wore it even though we eloped. People fully expected me in a sundress, imagine their surprise when they saw pictures and I was in my silk, mermaid gown.

Your wedding, your choice. You get to be a princess for a day, wear whatever dress makes you feel like royalty! PS, I love that gown 🙂

I don’t think it is too formal, I think it is lovely!

Floofy: I think it’s gorgeous! You should totally wear it and it doesn’t look too formal- you’re the bride you should outdress everyone! Also, that taco bar idea sounds awesome!! I LOVE taco’s!!!

I think it’s gorgeous, and not at all too formal.

You will never regret going for “more” with your wedding dress! You will however regret it if you choose something you don’t love!

Floofy: First I thought, how could a wedding dress ever look too formal? And I expected something much more “formal” – I think the dress is perfectly fine for any kind of wedding, I wouldn’t think about it twice at all.

Thanks so much, bees! 🙂 I was worried because when I googled “informal wedding dress” for ideas, this isn’t what I was seeing. Everyone, including me is against a short dress because I wear short, ladylike dresses ALL the time, and the only long dresses were very plain. No lace, no sparkle, nothing. I just didn’t want to look like a fool!
I’ll follow my dream, then!

I think wear whatever makes you happy, I’ve heard of girls wearing ball gowns for beach weddings, agree with pp, it’s a once in a life time experience, live it up!

I think it’s very difficult for a bride to be overdressed. The way I see it, a bride should usually be the fanciest dressed person there, so if you love it, go for it.

The gown is beautiful! If you love it and it takes your breath away – get it! You can be as fancy as you damn well like on your wedding day!
