So worth it!! I'm a runner (long distance) and I love their items. The quality and durability of the clothes are great! The items I have let me breathe, and I'm not a soaking wet mess at the end of my runs. I say go for it, you won't regret it.
I can say that my best friend wears a pair of lulemon shorts to run marathons bc they're that great. She wears the same pair to zumba too!
Not only are they great for working out in, but they last a VERY VERY long time. I have had a pair of pants for about 5 years now and they still fit just as good as the first time. So $55 is a great deal for quality.
I'm a yogini, not a runner but I love Lululemon. I have pants and tops that I purchased over 6 yrs ago and they are still going strong. I agree w/ the other Bees, $55 for quality is a great deal.
I love lululemon but just a heads up, the brand "tuff" sold at Costco is made in the same factory and feels identical. And the quality is really good. I've saved so much money by buying the tuff version of the same item. If you want a specific thing though then yes go for it because they are great.
I've found that all their bottoms (pants, capris, shorts, leggings) are amazing quality and definitely worth the price. I've haven't tried any of their tops yet.
And their headbands are genius. Those bitches don't slip - ever.
So worth it. I have a pair of capri calf split pants that I've worn to yoga and pilates for 3 YEARS - machine washed after every class, and they still stretch and look great (not new, but that would be a miracle). I also have calf length running tights which are just as amazing, and I do have running shorts but no longer care to expose the world to my flabby cellulite ridden upper thighs, so i wear them around the house in the summer. They are fab! Worth the money for sure!
Totally worth it- I love all their stuff. I both distance run, do yoga, take classes at the gym etc. and it works thru it all, mostly I wear their groove pants at home bc they are comfy and my boyfriend thinks they look sexy :)
I can't speak for their running shorts, but I have their yoga pants and tops. AMAZING stuff and worth the $$$.
I agree with the poster who posted about the Tuff stuff from Costco. I have a lot of their stuff and love it...so cheap in price too. But, I also have the $55 lulu running shorts you are talking about and I LOVE THEM. I would go for it! They are good quality and if anything breaks from lulu...say if a year later the zipper on your hoodie goes, they don't just fix it they give you a brand new one.
Another vote for LOVE...though not the price. They turn over their items seasonally and so sometimes you can get inventory at a discounted price. Good luck with your purchase, take a deep breath and splurge. You might find you don't want to wear anything but Lulu :)

I have read some posts about how awesome lululemon workout gear is. I need some new running shorts, and am having a hard time spending $55 on running shorts. Even my husband, who is always telling me to spend more to get quality and that I don't treat myself enough, balked at the price.
Just to clarify- we can afford it, it's just the thought of $55 running shorts.
ETA: I am a relatively new runner- did c25k in the fall, and am running 2 miles on average, with a goal of my first 5k next month. I don't see myself running more than a 10k at most.
