I have posted about my dress before but my poll question wasn’t really right…so I want to start over & id love your thoughts please!
I have attached some pics of me in a sample of my dress. It is 2 sizes too big, so please ignore all the excess material everywhere…imagine it fitted all the way to my butt and then it will go out a bit just above the knee…a subtle mermaid shape.
- I will be wearing a 2 tier chapel veil…over my face for the ceremony and lifted when i reach the end of the aisle.
- I am also wearing gorgeous vintage earrings too and probably a blingy braclet of some sort.
- My hair will be up
NOW my question is: will my dress look too plain as it is (with veil and jewellery) or do you think it will look fine as is? Do you think I should leave it exactly how it is or add some sort of bling belt under the bust or a brooch or something?I have added some photos of my shoes, earrings and a similar veil – mine will have no trim though.

No, it’s gorgeous. You don’t need to be covered in crystals to look gorgeous.

That’s a beautiful dress, and it looks beautiful on you! I love sparkly things, so I’ll suggest that a blingy belt couldn’t hurt.

I almost bought a dress exactly like that, and I don’t think its too plain at all. Its very elegant.

I love the simplicity of the dress! I say no belt and maybe an awesome statement necklace.

I love your dress, I dont think you need to add anything to it, its gorgeous! You could always do colored shoes if you want.

I really like your dress just the way it is. Looks stunning on you!

i think its gorgeous!
it has enough movement and texture that it doesnt need anything else!

I think the “plainness” of the dress is what makes it stunning. It compliments but doesn’t distract. It looks great!

I think it is gorgeous! The accessories you have picked out will be just the right amount. I agree with PP that being a bit understated is what makes this dress so pretty!!!! Love it!

Thank you to everyone who has replied.
Instead of a belt as such – do you think a brooch like the one in the photo might look nice? Place it right underneath the bust line It might add something to the dress, without taking over the simplicity of it?

I think it’s absolutely beautiful. Simple and elegant and perfect.

@bianca123: I don’t know about the brooch. Having it right below your bustline might look weird with all the ruching on the dress. If you add anything, I think it should be at the waistline.

@bianca123: I actually prefer the simplicity over adding the brooch. The fit of the dress, In My Humble Opinion, is the dramatic part – it looks stunning on your figure, and that’s what’s the show-stopper. Plus, like a PP mentioned, the texture and the movement of the dress is perfect. And this is coming from a sash/belt lover almost 100% of the time…I think yours is perfect without any of that. Also, you have to remember how different you’ll look when you’re all jazzed up in hair, makeup and with accessories – it’ll be super dramatic.

thank you for you replies! I think you are right….its just so hard when this sample is so massive and not fitting properly.
Perhaps I should wait until the dress is made..fitted exactly right, with veil and see how I feel then!
