I think its beautiful, Im from europe and the big ring thing isnt popular anyway. Try it on with some wedding bands and remember everyone has an opinion, and what they would choose you may not like anyway.

Congratulations on your engagement. The only small thing I see in this post are the people making negative comments on your ring. They can screw off, pardon my French.

It’s a beautiful solitaire, a timeless classic and most importantly you love it so don’t let jealous people rain on your parade.

@AntoinetteE:  Welcome and congrats! I love your ring. I think once you have a your wedding band, maybe one with stones all around, it’s going to look even more gorgeous.

@leecy87:  I second that. I am in Europe as well and I actually have a big ring that I don’t wear. I wear my little one that he bought me before my official ring set.

@AntoinetteE:  I think smaller rings are dainty and beautiful! When you put your wedding band with it, it will feel perfect. 🙂

dont get caught up in the big diamond craz. Just like women, diamonds are beautiful in all shapes and sizes and colors. Don’t get too caught up in it and be thankful you have a man that wants to marry you and saved up money to even get you something.

@AntoinetteE:  Your ring is lovely and classic. Whatever you choose as a wedding band will fit nicely with your e-ring.

I think that asking ‘if an engagement ring is too small’, is like asking ‘is the love we share not big enough’- OF COURSE NOT!!!!!!!. The ring is symbolic of his love, his hard work etc

I remember my dad telling me a story about my parents when they were younger. My mother used to rock us to sleep in a rocking chair, and needed a new one. My Dad order her a new wooden one, had it made, and went to pick it up.

He didn’t have a car. So he had to carry it home. (About 5-10kms). He got tired on the way, and took a rest in the chair. (I asked him when I was older if he was embassed by passing cars etc). He said no, it was for the woman he loved- plus he said that he would have looked silly sitting by the side of the road sitting next to the chair).

Anyway, my point is, he worked overtime for weeks, and walked that chair home (in Australian heat) to give my mum that chair. A simple wooden chair. (I now have since she passed away last week). But she would have NEVER thought to say to him that it was inadequate, or not BIG enough etc. We have to stop living our lives through the eyes of others, and if you love the ring- Than that is just perfect- Just like that chair!!!!

@katepoppy:  Beautiful story, thanks for sharing!

OP – if you love your fiancé that is all that matters; don’t worry about what others think about your ring.

@katepoppy:  that’s a really beautiful story. So sorry to see that your mum has passed away. I also suffer with asking too many people’s opinions and being swayed when self doubt creeps in. I’ll try to remember your story and listen only to my heart 🙂

@AntoinetteE:  Your ring is lovely. It symbolises how much you and your new FI share. Everytime you look it don’t critique it, just feel lucky to found your FI!

It suits you.  I personally prefer the smaller style as I have short fingers and a bigger stone would dwarf my hand.  Your ring is lovely.
