On the model it looks just sexy enough. With more curves.. might be a bit risque. Lets see pics of you in it!
It's not something I would ever wear, but if you're comfortable in it and it fits the casualness of the rest of the day, why not?
@fap: Have you tried the dress on?
I think it will be great as long as you aren't spilling out of the top or it doesn't ride up too short.
The ruching on the bottom makes it more figure flattering and less sex kitten.
Personally I wouldn't wear it. I would maybe find something a little bit more modest and little less form fitting. It's a good dress for a night out on the town but not really for a wedding
I agree with the first poster. I would say that if you're bigger on top to avoid it. If you are smaller busted, I think it is fine! So, it could go either way!
It would be for me. I always feel too exposed, like I'm sitting there in my underwear, when I venture out in something that revealing and form fitting, but not everyone is like me. If you think you might get self-conscious, maybe a great jacket would help tone it down?
@KatNYC2011:thanks. i have tried it on and had it altered. it honestly looks fantastic and is very flattering. i am a C cup on top and there isn't much cleavage showing at all. i am def not spilling out on top at all. i am more concerned with it showing off my curves. i am so used to seeing brides in dresses with flowing bottoms, to even out the fitted top area.
I think it is great. It is your day, and even if it is on the sexier side of the line you can still rock it for a wedding.
Go for it! Since it's knee-length and not low-cut, I think it will show off your curves in a classy way. Can't wait to see pics from your big day!
I really like that dress. I think whether it's too risque is going to depend on two things. The first is your chest, and it sounds like you're not spilling out of it. The second is where it hits your leg. If you are tall or have a long torso, I could see it hitting mid to upper thigh which would be a little revealing, but if it hits below that point, I think you're fine.
A lot of more traditional dresses are more form fitting through the torso and even down to the thighs, so I don't really think it being figure-hugging is such an issue.
I think that will be very cute, and as other posters have said, as long as it contains the girls and it's not riding too high, it should be great! You can always balance it a bit with some killer shoes, a nice, simple bracelet, and a pretty statement necklace so your neck/chest doesn't look so open if you're trying to avoid 'sex kitten.' :-)
@fap: Firstly, I love the dress. Just know this, I have another Nicole Miller, very similar in type, material, cut, ruching all of it. The bottom rides up! Just know that and be mindful. Idk if you guys will be dancing, but I most certainly did, and hum, apparently there were some Lohen/Spears/Hilton-esque undies moments. Soooo please just be careful!
I love the dress!! but it really depends on how it looks on you. On the model it looks cute and chic
@HardyPooleParty:VERY good to know! Thanks! It hits at the top of my knee so hopefully it won't ride up too high. I wonder if there is anything I can do to prevent that from happening.
@fap: Yeah mine is about the same. As for preventing, if you find something, let mek now! I sadly dont have the magic bullet for you on that. You could try double sided tape, but, I am assuming your dress has a liner inside like mine, that would prob end up with the top layer moving and the liner showing out the bottom. Just be mindful and you should be ok.
@fap: Could you wear one of those spanks/shaper skirts that smooth your legs, and then either double side tape your dress to your liner and your liner to the shaper? (or even use a few mini-safety pins from the inside?) Then your BritBrit won't make an appearance :-)
Spray static guard on your nylons, liner and dress to help w/riding up issues
@NDBee:not a bad i dea. i was thinking of wearing shaper shorts (because the skirts always ride up, i find). problem is, how would i pee??
@fap:Peeing is for the weak ;-) hehee. Ooonly kidding.
I've heard (but not confirmd) that some spanks have a 'pee hole?!'
Its your day if you feel comfortable in it and want it then wear it. I think it will be fine as long as your lady lumps arent hanging out or anything like that!!
I personally love the dress, and I think you can definitely rock your curves in it.
maybe you could have a seamstress add a layer of lace overlay or trim at the bottom?
@NDBee: Yes I have an almost full body Spanx (from the top of my thighs to just below my bust) and it does have a pee hole. However, I never use it! It is a neat feature but I am just weirded out by it. I am too worried about not trying to pee on the fabric (even the hole is a ok size). That I go to the effort to roll it down when I have to go and re-adjust again after.
That dress is pretty! But I would be wanting to add a bit of fabric at the bottom (lace?) just in case it rides up.
I think it's gorgeous! I don't really see how it's more risque than a tight fitting mermaid gown, if it's hitting just above the knee?
It's pretty, but definately really sexy, so if you're comfortable with looking so sexy at your wedding then go for it. Not what I would wear, but more power to you.
@lola blue:you're right - it is very mermaid-ish and hits at the top of the knee (it's a tad longer on me than on the model). i guess i'd feel pretty booty-licious in one of those as well!
I think it's a great dress. Me personally, I find most wedding dresses to look dowdy and not very flattering; this one looks modern and flattering (to my mind).

i'm having a casual restaurant/bar wedding. i'm wearing a nicole miller dress (not a bridal dress) that is strapless and hits right above the knee. the model i'm sure is a size 2, but i'm a curvy size 6, so it's quite bootylicious. thoughts? i suddenly think it might be inappropriate but don't know if it's just stress/anxiety!
