I say you are safe…I would think the parties would be before.

@jg780806:  Who has a party the weekend after Halloween? Nobody I’ve ever met in my life, that’s who. XD People do these things before or on the day, in my experiences. No one is going to care. 🙂

I’m sure most parties would be before Halloween.

@jg780806:  Actually I think Halloween parties would most likely be the week before 🙂 If you are worried I would make your shower at the 9th.. but in all honesty I feel that you will be fine having your party on the 2nd!

I would say that the parties would either be the weekend before or that Friday night as it is the night after Halloween.  I think you are safe.

I think it’s fine.  The vast majority of halloween parties would be the weekend before.

People will definitely do Halloween the weekend before. I think because if it’s after, it’s a whole different month! You’re fine.

i think you will be fine.  showers are typically during the day, so if someone is having a halloween party, it will be at night.

Halloween parties held after Halloween feel weird to me.  Most people do them before or the day of.

You should be fine. 🙂

OR have a costume shower. Which could be awesome.

If you try to avoid every weekend in the fall that is near a holiday you won’t be able to have a shower. That weekend is fine, no one celebrates Halloween afterwards and barely anyone celebrates during the day.

Haha! This is my WEDDING date, and I booked it before I even realised it’s so close to Halloween. But like all the PPs say, I think because it’s AFTER Halloween there won’t be any associations with the holiday. Usually those parties happen the week before if the actual date doesn’t fall on a weekend.

@jg780806:  I didn’t know grown ups celebrated Halloween, but I guess for folks with kids it could be an issue. The only thing that I would find unusual is that the shower is at night. I’ve never heard of that – only Sunday afternoons. To be honest, I’m not sure I’d give up a Saturday night for a shower.
