Is red and white suitable for fall?

I think those are fine colors for a fall vow renewal.

The decorations that you use will determine whether the white and red theme is Christmas-y, not so much the colors. I’ve seen lots of red and white weddings that didn’t remind me of Christmas or even Valentine’s day, so I think you’ll be able to have your red and white theme without trouble.

One of the easiest ways to make sure this color scheme doesn’t look Christmas-y is to include black, or use patterns like damask or lace.

If you Google “red and white wedding theme” lots of helpful photos will come up. They will make it much easier to see which uses of red and white look the best to you.

PositiveThinking:  Red and white only reminds me of Christmas when other Christmas related decor is around such as Christmas Trees with lights, snowmen/angels, Ornaments etc.  I chose the colours to our wedding based on colours we liked. We are having our wedding September 13th (which is still summer technically) and our colours are black, teal and white (ivory). I didn’t even think about the season I just thought about the colours we liked and what would look good. I’ve seen many red and white decorated weddings and it hasn’t screamed Christmas…..I’m sure it will look beautiful!

If your planning on using a bright red and crisp white, no I don’t think it would work. I would suggest a dark or burnt red and ivory or antique white, which in my opionion would be amazing for a Fall wedding 🙂

Our wedding is in late September, and we’re using dark red and ivory for our colors. I never considered that it might look Christmas-y, but I’m not concerned. Our ceremony will be outside and I think it’ll be beautiful with the leaves changing colors.

PositiveThinking:  That would look great! I would also suggest using gold or copper as an accent color…. with the black accents at your venue it would all tie together nicely 🙂

I never understood matching colors to season… Choose colors that you like! As long as you don’t do seasonally-specific decor that is out of season, I can’t imagine it looking out of place.

I think you should do the colors that you like and not be concerned about what season it is.  I love red and white and can see it done anytime.
