I still see a lot of satin around, actually! It’s not my favorite, but I think that it is associated with the more traditional styles, and those will always be around!

Entirely a personal choice, really. Satin isn’t my style but I think it can look gorgeous on other women. Plenty of women still rock it, so if you love it, don’t let its trendiness (or lack of) hold you back. That sort of thing is all cyclical anyway.

I can’t speak for all satin dresses since I’ve seen a few pretty satin ones, but satin + pick ups look dated to me.

I’m wearing satin next year :/ I definitely think lace is more popular but after trying on both, satin seemed to work better for me 🙂

I wore satin. It was a 1930s style sheath gown so quite a classic look. I do think some satin styles could look dated but that would apply more to the style than the material I think.

I do think satin can look a bit dated. Materials like lace, tulle, organza, and chiffon seem more current to me. Although I have never liked satin, even as a kid, so I could be a bit biased.

I personally think satin is dated, but that’s my individual opinion. It didn’t work for my DW so I was turned off of that material for more than one reason.

sunflower22:  I think satin is beautiful. Go with what you like.

It’s never been my taste and it can get really hot under a satin dress.  There are still plenty of satin dresses out there; when you go dress shopping just tell your consultant what you want.

I think it really depends on the design of the dress. I do think that satin… leans towards dated more than some other fabrics. Like anything though, styles and fabrics come and go. Wear what you like.

No matter how I may like tulle and lace, heavy silk or satin always works for me. My first dress was ivory and second one is a light gold champagne. It just looks sleek and elegant to my style. But I also only wear classic fashion.

I personally think satin and pick ups are dated. But I recently posted about keeping my highlights or going for a all over color for my wedding since highlights are out right now. Another bee said that in twenty years no matter what, my wedding I’ll look dated because it’s from the 2010’s so do whatever I feel best in. I would do whatever YOU feel most beautiful in

I don’t think satin is dated. I think it can be really lovely, provided it’s not the cheap stuff!
