FH wants to get a silver ring from James Avery for his wedding ring. He wants to keep the silver ring for probably ~6 years then upgrade to a platinum one. He wants to get something that can be resized as he is loosing quite a bit of weight. Any thoughts?

My husband had a plain 4mm sterling silver ring and within 4 months it bent. He now has tungsten! You can get tungsten JUST as cheap as a silver ring. 🙂

I made my DH’s ring out of sterling silver. I made it thick because that kind of quality is important to me. He absolutely loves it. Why would it be “bad?”

I think it should be fine, depending on what he does with his hands on a daily basis! Like if he’s in a job where he works with his hands the ring could really take a beating. But if that’s not the case I think he should be fine with a silver ring, because it may not last forever but if you’re planning on replacing it anyway, why not?
My FI wants this silver ring, and it’s pretty thick, so I’d be really surprised if it bent. Because it’s an artisan-made ring on Etsy, we don’t really have the option of different metals that would still be in our budget.
