Weddingbee boards

My SO and I both got new jobs last week. My coworker's daughter got a new job. I've seen numerous posts on WB in the past week about new jobs. YAY!

Congrats!  I continue to hear dismal news about employment rates, but it does seem like there's awesomeness happening on the boards lately, jobwise.  I know jobs in my field are still few and far between, especially in the public sector.  We must all just be fabulous ;-)

I honestly, truly do not keep up with the news. At all. I know things still seem to be going down the drain, but I have really heard more "new job" stuff lately than ever before in the past year.

If you don't mind sharing, what field of work are you in?

And of course all bees, no matter what, are fabulous :) Love this place.

@gocubbies: I'm a librarian; since public funding has been suffering lately, good jobs in public libraries are more rare (you may have heard of branches and libraries closing, or libraries outsourcing their collection development and management to outside companies--all this means fewer professional library jobs).

I have seen so many "yay! I got a new job!" postings on the bee lately and it is wonderful!

@BunnyBrideToBe: I may not read a lot about the news, but I know this country is ultimately failng due to greed. It makes me sick and sad. I am so sorry things are rough for you, I LOVE the library. It is my place of solace!

I've been noticing that too! Seems like there has been at least one post a day for the last week announcing that someone got a new job. I'm so happy for everyone newly-employed and sending lots of "new job juju" to those who are still looking. There must be something in the water here so hopefully those bees still looking will get a dose of whatever it is and find something soon!
