Darling Husband loves the name and since it’s his late grandfather’s name, it’s got a lot of special meaning for him. I’m not too sure. I can see it sounding quite sophisticated, but I also can’t help thinking of a super villain… But then again, he’s British and I’m American, so we have different name associations. Case in point: we have 5 friends under the age of 35 who are named Alistair.
Other girl names we like:
Philippa (Pippa), Penelope (Penny), Vivian, Neve/Eve/Eva, Georgina (Nina)
What do you think? Yay or nay?

I like the name Victor, and also Vivian
Edit: are we talking about a boy child or girl child? If girl you could do victoria which i also really love.

It’s not my favorite boy’s name out there but I don’t dislike it. It sounds like it would have special meaning too which is always a plus.
I really like Penelope (Penny) for your girls name. I wouldn’t name a girl Pippa right now after all the hype with Pippa Middleton (and her behind).

@Mrs.KMM: gah, I know–I’ve loved the name ever since I was little (Philippa Gordon from Anne of the Island). Stinks to have a celebrity steal your thunder. Dang Middletons.

my friend named her little girl epiphany(call her pippy for short) and i think it’s adorable and unique

Victor was my #1 choice, but it rhymes perfectly with our last name and sounds awful:(

I love Victor, I want to use it if I have a little boy!

I love the name Victor, but may be biased as it’s my brother-in-law’s name. I get the “villian” feeling to it, but I really like it nonetheless. I think it does have a nice sophisticated feel to it!

I really like the name Victor, and I dont think of villian, but I have a cousin named that so that is where my mind goes to.

I’m a fool. I hit back to go back to the board and then I just hit submit again.

I think Victor is a great name! I definitely don’t think of a villain.

I think of “Victor Newman” on the Young and the Restless.

I don’t mind Victor at all (and I hate almost every baby name out there hahaha). I don’t think of villians at all.

I don’t like it, but if my son was named Victor I think I’d love it.
I hated my niece’s name but now I love it and it’s perfect for her. It’s a family name and kind of unusual and I was secretly glad my sister had a girl before I did so that I wouldn’t be expected to use it
I like imalittlebirdie’s suggestion of Victoria if you like that better.
