    Hello everyone,

I have a very thin band for my engagement ring (2 mm) and I would like a wedding band of similar size but would like to get it engraved as well. I was just wondering if there was a minimum width the ring would have to be for engraving. Any information would be very helpful.  Thanks so much everyone!

I know that when we ordered by band online (also 2 mm) they said that size couldn't be engraved. I would like anything above 4 mm could be, but that's a guess.

iWeddingBand.com offers free engraving on their 2mm wedding bands, so it can be done.

At the jewelry store I used to work at, engraving on a band that small was not recommended, because of difficulty and just generally not looking that great.  But my fiancee's band is 2mm and has engraving on the outside. It was purchased that way. So I would guess that maybe it depends on the jeweler?

I think it depends on the skill level of the jeweler....I got my FIs band engraved..it's a 6mm but since it has diamonds in it that are channel set, there were areas of the ring that could not be engraved. My jeweler was able to remove the "carat" stamp..do the engraving...and restamp the ring after he was done...and it fit great

Before finding this jeweler I had taken the ring to about 3 or 4 other places (including Jared's) and all of them told me that it couldn't be done. My advice...find a local jeweler like I did
