i don’t think there’s a prominent locations like the jewelry district or the flower district…i could be totally wrong too….but if you’re in the fashion district there are certain stores dedicated to "wedding-y" stuff. you can try moskatel’s…it’s a michaels outlet in downtown. it’s on san julian between eighth and ninth, directly across from the flower mart. not only wedding but also party stuff just like michael craft store… hope this helps!

hi tivoli, there is no such thing called a wedding district. there is a flower district, toy district, jewelry district, fashion district and fabric district. however, there are a bunch of places where you can buy dresses (prom dresses, bridesmaids dresses and dresses that can be used as wedding dresses!) at the fashion district. you can also buy fabric for cheap at the fabric district and get your dress made. im sure you can find wedding related stuff but its not in one concentrated area. for centerpieces, would need to go to the flower district and look around (an acquiantance of mine did this and saved a ton of money- by buying vases for her centerpieces herself instead of going through her florist). for bridesmaids dresses, you would need to go to the fashion district, etc.  everything over there is pretty cheap bc they sell it for wholesale (or close to) price. and you can bargin at some places. if you have time, you should look around (wkdays are obviously way less crowded!). dont buy anything before youre done looking around though- you might see something similar that you like better or cheaper! 🙂 and wear comfortable shoes. 🙂

Tivoli,

There are plenty, I mean plenty of wedding-related stores in Temple City off of Las Tunas Drive.  Good luck!

i heard it was a street in the fashion district that had wedding type stuff. My FSIL said you just have to walk around. Sorry I can’t help you more than that.

I did my wedding stuff searching in downtown.  The first trip I was looking for bridesmaid dresses.  After looking at the "bridesmaids" attire there and their prices, I was better off going with a designer like Alfred Angelo. Same price, better material.  The second trip I was looking for ceremony stuff and didn’t find anything.

Also, the stores are spread out and most of the stuff there are for Quinceneras (sp?).

We did go to the stores on Las Tunas on Temple City, but there were mostly bridal dresses and photography places.

 Hope that helps.

I do alot of shopping in LA for various projects, you can find stores on San Pedro between 9th and 7th Streets. Your best bet is to find a safe parking lot to park and walk between 8th and 7th between San Pedro and Main St.

The Novelty District has indoor malls that have some treasures you just need to be willing to explore.

Be safe!

I did my bridal accessory shopping in downtown LA, and there is no one place, but there are many shops scattered around.  I parked near Michael Levine, a huge fabric store on Maple Ave. and just started walking.

There are a few stores that solely had tiaras and other hair accessories, lots of jewelry stores, and a lot of the clothing stores had veils that are identical to the ones in bridal shops but were a lot les expensive.

Agree with the advice to wear comfortable shoes, and just walk.  Be ready to bargain, too.  The first price is not always the price.  Good luck!
