I just received my unity sand set from David’s Bridal. For some reason, I received two of them from in my shipment. I have checked my transactions online, and only see one transaction to David’s Bridal, so I’m 99.9% sure I wasn’t charged twice. I had them engraved/etched with our initials/dates, so obviously I can’t sell the extra one as is. So my question is, is there anyway to ‘remove’ the etching so I can resell the extra one.

try rubbing alcohol or some sort of paint remover.

@turkey22: thanks, I’ll have to try that!

If they are actually etched, the answer is no.
Is it safe to asume you notified David’s Bridal of their error? I’m quite sure that if you did, they would tell you not to bother returning the second set.
Given that it didn’t cost you anything, perhaps you could donate it to a thrift shop for some lucky DIY bride to come up with a solution. That seems like good karma to me.

what a cute set!
ya, i think that might be a tough sell…the next bride would have to cover it with something. etching isn’t removable, it’s “dug” into the glass.
the set is so cute, tho! my mom really wants us to do a unity thing. what’s the link?
i was thinking of just doing water…wasn’t sure i wanted to save the sand. but that’s pretty cute! 🙂

If you didn’t pay for the second set, I would donate it to a second hand shop and someone will pick it up and do something with it!
