We are planning a trip to Orlando and plan on visiting Discovery Cove. Its an amazing place where you can swim with dolphins, snorkel a huge reef, wade/float down their river, walk on the bottom of the tank as fish swim amoung you, etc.,etc.
Anyway, reason why Im asking about waterproof make-up is because I would like to look at least a little bit decent in all the pictures that will be taken. By not only my husband, family, and friends, but also the professional photographer and videographers that are out and about recording guests here and there.
Im looking for nothing fancy. A natural look. But I would be looking for mascara and eye shadow. I am skeptical about finding anything that will work. When I have tried waterproof mascara before, it didnt work. Is there one that you have tried and it worked perfectly for you?
And then Im looking for eyeshadow. Have you seen any waterproof eye shadow? I don’t even know if companies make such a thing.
@Earlybride: i don’t wear waterproof mascara that often but when i do it’s always been maybelline great lash. it’s reasonably priced (good b/c it’s not an everyday thing) and it works really well. i have never had a problem ever in over 20 years.
the key for keeping your makeup in tact is not to rub your eyes or face. if you need to, dab.
if your makeup is applied and set properly, you can go swimming and still look the same. i have.
I scuba dive, and we take a lot of photos… and I need eye makeup.
What she put on is Make Up Forever’s Aqua Eyes eye seal. It’s a waterproofing liquid you can mix with products or apply overtop for extremecwaterproofing. What I was told at Sephora was that it was originally developped for synchronized swimmers.
All I know us that it’ll keep my eye shadow, liner and brow pencil from budging over a full day on a dive boat. Great stuff.
I use Clinique Lash Power long-wearing waterproof mascara; it’s not as thick as the Benefit, but since it’s a tubing product it can’t ever make racoon eyes, even if you forget and do rub your eyes.
