So I work in real estate as a marketing specialist. I basically advertise homes that are on the market and try to promote our company wherever I can. I work closely with two other women. One is a real estate agent and the other is a contract specialist, which basically means she handles all the paperwork that goes into buying or selling a house. The three of us are sort of a team.
Anyway, they just hired a new girl to take over as the contract specialist. She’s fairly new. But she sent me this email message. I don’t know if I’m just being paranoid or what. I’m afraid that they are getting ready to replace me because maybe I’m not bringing in enough leads and potential clients. But again, I can’t tell if this is a valid fear or if I’m being paranoid. But read the email and let me know what you think. (Names have been changed).
Hey Lady Blackheart, Bluegrass Lane is being reduced to $204,900 & Laurel Hill is being reduced to $104,900. If you could please notate these changes wherever applicable for you, I will do it in the system as soon as I get a chance. Also, Jenny wanted me to tell you that I am available to help you out if you have too much going on because right now I don’t have a huge work load & have a lot of extra time on my hands, so just let me know if I can do anything to help you out.
The underlined part is what’s worrying me. Jenny’s never asked Anna (the woman that Heather replaced) to help me out on anything.
This makes me worried that Jenny thinks I’m not doing a good enough job and thus has enlisted Heather to help. I don’t know. I don’t know if I’m reading too much into this.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Either she literally has nothing to do (in which case, I don’t know how/why she was hired) or they are checking to see if you have anything to do.

@LadyBlackheart: Uh, you’re definitely over thinking it. She didn’t ask the old person to help you because the old person wasn’t new with nothing to do.

Not really…Jenny just might want to get Heather trained up and she probably thinks you’re the person to do it?

It sounds to me like since she’s new and doesn’t have a lot of work yet, they are trying to keep her busy. I wouldn’t read too much into it.

I think you are reading too much into this. I wouldn’t worry.
