You know..I would say thats sounds excessive, but my point of reference is Texas, so maybe that is typical for NY! Also, how large are the cookies, how much detail and will they come wrapped?---I would inquire about that
I'm checking with FI on the size, but they will be specified to our wedding colors and yes, they will be wrapped.
It really depends on the cookie- size, look. Is she wrapping each one? The price does sound too hight for me. I'd be willing to do $1.50. Look at Esty to compare prices.
Update regarding specifics:
The cookies are 3.5 inches wide, wrapped and tied with ribbon. Custom-designed for the wedding.
Additionally, I just checked her website and it appears she typically charges $4.50 per cookie. So it seems we are getting a discount.
That seems a bit much. If I were in your shoes, instead of going with that option, I would just throw in $0.50 more per person and get everyone a box of girl scout cookies! ahha jk
Ouch! Even with the discount it seems like a lot to me. I'm really not into favors but, if you can afford that, its probably one of the better favor ideas. There is not a single guest that either doesn't like cookies or doesn't know someone who does. So it won't get tossed in the garbage, which is my fear lol.
That seems a little expensive to me too.
Here is a website of someone in Houston that does the same thing:
Alright, ladies, looks like I have some things to think about. Thanks for the input!
It actually is about what I've found (price wise) for custom cookies just about everywhere. I think its because of the packaging and special colors. I decided against them strictly because of the cost as well.

I never put too much thought into favors. We had the idea for a gerber daisy cookie favor, which matches our theme, decor, etc.
One of the parents at FI's school owns a bakery/cookie business. She expressed that she would be honored to work on the cookies for our wedding.
She quoted us $3.50 per cookie...that would be about $500 for our whole wedding. That just seems like a lot, but I have zero experience with favors.
Opinions?
