@MegamiChan: this may be a replica site...I have never heard of it. But things that look too good to be true.. usually are. What is your budget? maybe we can help you find something!
well, I'd never heard of it before, but I checked it out. It says you can pay with paypal, which makes it a little more legit, plus they have a pretty solid return/exchange plan. If you pay with a credit/debit/checking account, you can always stop payment if something goes wrong. That happened to me once with an online retailer and my bank was very nice about just stopping the payment and putting the money back in my account. You should also search the internet for other reviews, etc.
hope that helps!
My budget is limited to a few hundred dollars, sadly, and it's near impossible to find a nice dress for that. Here's the one I chose http://www.hellodresses.com/a-line-satin-strapless-wedding-dress-maw0211.html
@ORella2012: Thank you, I was thinking about that. I contacted their customer service rep using the instant chat and was ifnormed that they only accept paypal and no other forms of payment.
@MegamiChan: Consider all of your options. This is a preowned wedding dress site and I did a search and they have plenty that are $350 & under.

Some dresses are new and never have been worn.
just now I found the same dress for a very similar price on bridalblvd.com, which was actually advertising on "scamhunter.com" they wouldn't let a scam site advertise through them... right? lol? I'm a wreck here :(
@MegamiChan: well, I don't know if you could get something with that sort of beading, etc, but most of the shops in my area have a selection of gowns for $100 (and up to $500). You could also check out David's Bridal $99 dress sale. They have really nice gowns and they are certainly reliable!! They might even have some dresses that are from last season or something on sale for less than $500. You could also check into having a dress made. Most seamstresses can buy appliques, etc, that look like intricate beading but don't require all the work (which is what gets expensive!) So, there are some options out there!
what about something like this? It has the same sort of shape
Or even this, and you could buy some appliques to add?
@ORella2012:I looked at david's bridal website and was unimpressed by selection and pricing, they make things tough on a bluecollar girl like myself :]
@ORella2012:Those are very beautiful! I did consider a plainer dress, actually wanted one in the first place, but while I was browsing fell in love with the beadwork. I know it's a lot to ask....
http://www.bestbridalprices.com You can also check them out. If you buy one of their "in-stock" dresses, they are half price (they are under their "sale" section). I bought my wedding dress from them for $350, it was a brand new, authentic Allure. It wasn't an old dress either. It was from a brand new collection and they had just gotten it a couple days before I bought it.
Just keep in mind that the size listed on the dress in the sale section is the only size they have.
@ORella2012:thank you for your help! I seemed to have missed quite a bit when I was searching... I had no idea so many sites catered to budgets.
@zippylef:the problem with the sale stuff is I have a tiny figure.... short and small. most of the really beautiful ones on sale are too big.
@MegamiChan: as far as samples not fitting, lots of independent seamstresses are pretty cheap to alter dresses... i've heard multiple times about brides getting side seams taken in, hems put in, necklines changed (to sweetheart, etc), and a bustle put in for like $150... you really have to shop around for a seamstress, but it can be done... and plenty of the pre-owned sites have amazing deals (preownedweddingdresses.com, oncewed.com, recycledbride.com, etc.). also check out charity sale sample sites like churchstreetbridal.com... maybe some bees can post some more sites for you to check out, but those are the ones i know...
and david's bridal $99 sale really does have some nice dresses... you might want to go play around one day and try things on... you might fall in love with something entirely different than you thought you wanted! beaded dresses are often very heavy, so you might like something flowy or simpler, with some beaded details? my advice to just start there and try the simpler/cheaper things on... you never know! :)
I highly recommend contacting the BBB Better Business Bureau (give them a call or shoot an email with the URL) and ask if there have been any complaints. After reviewing the "about us" section it appears that it is one of those websites that has direction manufacturer in China so that's why the low price. In addition to other suggestions the other gals made, some are not as fancy but http://www.jessicamcclintock.com also has lower priced wedding dresses and they are having a sale. Also http://www.camillelavie.com on-line the prices can be up to $650 or so but in the store more range of prices down into the $200 range when I looked a few weeks ago. Good luck!
i highly suggest ordering a dress from Jeff Lui at April Bridal. He has an online ebay store with dresses under $200 or you could even have a custom dress made to your specifications and meaurments for just $199. I know they are legit and i used them my self for my own wedding dress. I sent them 3 pictures of different dresses and had them combine the parts i liked form each into one dress. This is how it came out...

I have never heard of them but I can tell that they are making replicas which means that they take pictures from other designer's sites and then try to make a copy of the dress. Some of the replica makers make really good dresses that look almost exactly like thier pictures and some of them do really really bad work. I customed designed my dress (mixed different aspects of a few different dresses and I used Shades of Pale and they do amazing work my dress was over $500 including shipping because it was done in silk but if I had it made in regular fabric it would have been in the $300 range. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Shades-of-Pale-Bridal-The-Little-Velvet-Box/196879553692866?sk=wall&filter=12
We had to go the budget route too. Fortunately, I found a local place that makes inpsired gowns, but they have a website and do dresses all over the world. My daughter's gown is an inspired one that was the wedding dress in the movie the Hangover. Here is the link http://www.mybigfatbeautifulwedding.com/Liv-Ball-Gown-wedding-dress-p/m1103.htm She does give excellent customer service and her prices are very reasonable. The gowns are well made for the money. Since I went to the store, I was amazaed at the qualtiy which was better than many I found in Davids Bridal. I hope this helps you in some way!
You can DEFINIETELY find a dress for a couple hundred dollars. It doesn't necessarily have to be a replica.
Keep an eye on the pre-owned websites and the shops that sell samples. Keep in mind that some people sell new dresses they never wore on the preowned sites.
The pre-owned sites:
The sample/resale shops:
*b&m = brick and mortar, meaning that operate an physical store
Some "mall stores" are now selling bridal gowns as well.
@MegamiChan: I know we don't know eachother, but as a bride-to-be, I would recommend to NOT do it! I had a regretable experience. I was tricked into thinking I'd get the dress that was posted on their site. I received a poor woman's bootleg version. Let's just say the quality was unacceptable! I was left upset, helpless and feeling stupid - I thought that I was saving myself money, but now I'm out a few hundred bucks :( If you could save yourself the frustration, try another route. By the way, the site I purchased from is called WEDDINGTRAIL.COM. Stay away from them, and other overseas companies like them. Best wishes!
I don't trust some internet sales. I never heard of the site you mentioned. I found a dress online but I was scared to buy it so I paid triple the amount for a similar dress. Then my friend ordered from the site I was looking at and she got her dress in 30 days and it is perfect. It is all about taking a risk and I wasn't comfortable doing it.
My sister saw a brand new dress at a thrift store once for $45. So check there or consignment shops. They normally have really good prices (for new or almost new dresses).
What area do you live in? I'm sure they are shops with less expensive nice dresses. We can help you find some dresses. Also a lot of bridal shops have sample sales and dresses are normally 50 - 70% off.

I was looking for a wedding dress on the cheap as my fiance and I live on extremely limited budgets. After some intense internet searching I had resigned myself to the fact that I would not be able to afford a real wedding dress and was near tears when I came accrossed a website named Hellodresses.com. it seemed very promising and each dress was beautiful and within my budget. I chose a dress and began saving when I was was randomly browsing online and became aware that many cheap dress sites are scams. I don't want to lose my dress money on a scam, but I'm afraid that if I don't take this chance I won't be able to afford a dress and that kills me. HELP! does anyone know of this website?
