What do you think about wearing sequins to a blacktie January wedding? The gowns would be formal (see examples). I know the grooms wouldn’t care but I wonder what guests would think. I suppose it’s important to know it’s a gay wedding so there wouldn’t be a bride in a dress.

@Mars62312: where’s that champagne one from? I want it!

The top one (champagne) is to die for. Love them all, but you would definitely be a stunner in that one!

@Mars62312: Love all of them! Where are they from?

For black tie? Absolutely you can wear sequins

For black tie, almost any fancy gown (besides a wedding dress) is appropriate, IMO?

Thanks! They’re from Rent the Runway. I rent dresses for things like this because my days of formal attire are few and far in between. They’re having a 25% off sale for Cyber Monday so I’m trying to nail this down!

Totally appropriate! Also, I love rtr! I had to go to the occasional black tie event for my last job, so I rented frequently- it was always fun!

@Mars62312: 100% fine. I would be slightly worried about the champagne one IF there was a bride, but with two grooms I think there’s not a single worry.

Thanks, Gals! Went with the top one! I can’t wait!

Yes, definitely ok. And I LOVE the first dress!

The top one I personally wouldn’t wear if a bride would be present, but since it’s a gay wedding I say go for it!
