So I saw this bedding yesterday and I’m considering trying to convince DH to get it (because I LOVE it).
We have a heavy duvet now but I think it would be nice to have something not quite so heavy and hot for the summer (then we could switch back to the duvet once it gets colder again).
My only concern is that he’ll think it is too girly for our master bedroom. What do you think? It is too girly for the bedroom of a married couple?

I think it is way too girly for a man to sleep in that bed!

It’s pretty girly but does your hubby care about that sort of thing? Our bedroom looks like it could be on the cover of “Princess Girly Girl” but FH couldn’t care less so I get away with it.

I think it depends if he cares too much about girly things. I have a trick that I use with my husband, I’ll pick two things out. One of them will be super girly so he’ll always pick the other one, lesser of two evils I guess.

I think it depends on what the rest of the room looks like. If the lines are clean, simple, dark furniture, etc. then it could work without being too girly. If the rest of the room is already trending towards the feminine it would probably push it over the edge for him. Worth a shot, i’d say!

It depends. As long as the whole room isn’t tricked out to match it, I think it’s great, especially if it’s your “summer bedding.” Pick something a little maniler for your winter bedding, and you each get a turn.

Oh It’s beautiful! I would absolutly get it.

I love that pattern, very Liberty of London. But in our house I avoid floral patterns and pinks and purples. Hopefully I can get some pretty colors on the wall without him protesting too much.

I think it’s too girly – plus I think the pattern is a bit overwhelming even for a single girl’s room (personally, it seems kind of juvenile).
Perhaps you can find something with a pop of color that doesn’t have gigantic flowers on it. Maybe something more geometric or something with flowers that are more subtle.
Even this is less girly but still has a bold pattern:

Yes, it is IMO. But it just depends on how much he cares about what it looks like. I know my fiance wouldn’t be too thrilled about it….

@Miss Peach Tree: This is our current bedding/duvet cover that, should I get the above bedding, would be our “winter bedding”.
@caitlanc: All of our bedroom furniture is black wood. This is the stock photo of the bedroom set we bought (obviously not our actual room). Our walls are just neutral cream/white (didn’t want to bother painting the apartment).

I friggen LOVE it, but way too girly for a guy.
I too miss my NYC/Audry Hepburn themed loft that I left behind when I moved in with FI. All my stuff is now in the guest bedroom. That room is the best one in the house! lol

Where did you get your bedding from if I may ask?

I agree w/ camrie – too girly, and also IMO, a bit too “teen” like.

@Oneeleven: The current bedding or the bedding I’m asking about in this post?
