The navy with oranges and reds, and maybe some brown? What color I should I go with table cloths? Should I keep the blue to accents and dresses?
I think as long as you stick to saturated, rich accent colors, you’ll be fine.
What about some of these schemes? You could put the blue in almost any of them for a very pretty feel. It depends on your date and location, as well.
I prefer navy blue and fuschia to navy blue and orange. But then again, I’ve never been much of an orange fan so I’m a little biased.
No, it won’t look funky if done right! I’m a big believer that colors to not have to match to look great together. With the right implementation almost anything can look go together. Heck, if navy blue and black can look good together anything can.
Regardless of that orange and blue and very common colors to pair together anyways! I would stick with a neutral tablecloth like gray or wheat, but that’s just because I prefer more subdued colors with accents.
As long as it is done right I think it will look good. I don’t know if I would put much brown in there, but maybe just some lighter neutrals like tans/beiges/grays
Not at all they are complimentary colors! There are three main sets of complimentary colors in color design; red and green, orange and blue, and violet and yellow.
Colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel are considered to be complementary colors (example: red and green).
The high contrast of complementary colors creates a vibrant look especially when used at full saturation. This color scheme must be managed well so it is not jarring.
Complementary colors are tricky to use in large doses, but work well when you want something to stand out.
Don’t add brown or tan that will muddle and mute everything. For table cloths I would go with a blue like the girls dresses. – Use the brighter oranges only for things you want to stand; flowers, center pieces, ribbons etc. Use white as an accent. I wouldn’t go white on big things like the table cloths because your wearing white! You need to stand out.
See how the center peices stand out – its a color scheme that creates excitment!
This is a analagous color scheme: colors that are harmonious create a calming environment. Notice how nothing really stands out…
As the pp has said, blue and orange are complementary colors and will work perfectly together.
Here’s a navy and orange fall wedding for insoiration
Thanks ladies, love the pics!
For an October wedding, I think the colors are great!
I don’t have any inspiration pics but just wanted to say…. I LOVE THE COLOUR CHOICE!
love it. Our colors were orange and green, and light grey was our neutral (and the MOHs’ dress color.) My bouquet was orange, the girls had white. Tablecloths were grey, with orange/green napkins.
I agree with PPs that brown could muddy up your color palette- I think grey or white would work better as your neutral.
i am having some doubts, but hopefully I can pull it off
