My FI’s cousin’s wedding is Sunday..and I just read something about not wearing red to someone’s wedding..but all I have right now is a red dress. I’ve gained weight, and I can’t fit into my other dreses. So..is this dress ok to wear?

I can’t say anything about anyone else, but I wouldn’t be upset if you wore that to my wedding. Especially if it had a little cardigan over it or something, too.

I wouldn’t think twice about it… my only rule is no white! If its a Chinese wedding where the bride wears red, then no, but otherwise I think its fine!

I would wear it! I don’t see anything wrong with it and I’ve heard of the old saying about wearing red but always see people wear red at weddings.

I love that dress, especially on the model. But it won’t look good on me because I have flab everywhere!

What type of accessories do you have? If you pair it maybe with a nude or khaki colored wrap and matching shoes it may tone down the red a bit.
I’m saying yes because it’s cute but I guess the bigger question is what type of wedding is it? If its outdoors/Casual Sunday wedding, I think this dress will look a little out of place. If its an evening wedding in a nice venue, I think it’d be great.

It’s a lovely dress – I agree with the PP to wear nude or khaki heels and tone it down with a cardigan or something. Otherwise, I love the style and color and think it’s perfectly fine for a wedding.

@candykiss: I was thinking actually the opposite. If it is a casual wedding, I would say yes – if formal, I’d say too informal. To me, it looks like a work dress, and I would then make the formal/informal decision based on what the fabric is.

I think the dress looks great, You might just need to accessorize a luttle bit because it looks a little too plain for a wedding.

So..I feel pretty stupid spelling “dress” wrong..hahaha. And the wedding ceremony starts at 2pm at a nice church, and the reception is at a very nice resturant on a lake. But, thanks for the feedback. =)
