I am in love with this dress, and want to wear it to my friend’s wedding next weekend. It is a church wedding with a reception at a country club. I would wear a cardigan over it in church. My question is really about the fact that it’s pretty much a white dress. I have other things I could wear, but I want an excuse to buy this… I’m debating sending a pic of it to my friend, but I really don’t want to bother her the week of her wedding.

I think it’s fine. It reads as a “print” not a white dress.

I say no but only because it looks extremely casual.

Many print, summer dresses have white backgrounds. It’s fine.

I agree with gelaine. It looks way too casual.

I agree with both OPs: on one hand I don’t think it’s is really a white dress…to me it’s more of a print dress with some white lol if that makes sense.
However, I also think it is too casual for a church/country club wedding.

Yes, I think it’s just fine.

BrownPlaidBook: i think its too casual. Its not about the color, its just not something I would wear to a wedding. If it was in a barn or a BBQ wedding, maybe, but not a formal wedding at a country club

Thank you! The votes are leaning yes, but there are still a lot of “no”s out there.
The reoccuring comment is that the dress is too casual, but in chatting with the bride, and she said it’s not a “suit jacket” wedding, and maxi dresses are great. That, added with the fact that I know they secretly eloped, push me towards going for the dress.
THANK YOU for your comments and votes!

With lovely jewelry, a nice cardigan, and heels, you can easily dress it up enough to be country club appropriate. I say go for it 🙂 Nice dress.

BrownPlaidBook: I say no. First of all, it looks super casual. Second, yes you might love the dress, but there are millions of other dresses out there, so why choose white.

I think its fine especially since the bride said that maxi dresses were fine. I would just dress it up a bit with nice accessories.
