@penguinbee:  Absolutely! What kind of wedding is it? At a Sunday morning church wedding with a brunch, maybe not. But for a Friday/Saturday evening thing, absolutely!

@penguinbee:  I think it’s definitely appropriate! I’ve noticed a lot of guests wear black to weddings now.

@penguinbee:  Nope. Some of the classiest, trendiest people at my wedding (both teenagers and 50 somethings wore all black). They looked great! The back is a little much for a church wedding, but you could always through a sweater or shall on if it is a church wedding.

@penguinbee:  I think the dress is gorgeous (and I’m sure it looks gorgeous on you!) but I see it more as a “date” dress than a dress to wear to a wedding.  I’m not overly traditional but always try to choose something other than black to wear to a wedding…unless its a more black tie type wedding.

I would wear it with a covering of some sort for the ceremony.

The black doesn’t bother me, but the back I think may  show a bit too much skin to be wedding appropriate.  I woud err on the side of caution.  Very pretty dress, though.

Evening wedding? Rock it. If you’re concerned about feeling uncomfortable bring a shawl or wrap for the ceremony and ditch it for dancing. Black is totes approp for a night time wedding. Rock it!

Looks great! However I would cover up a bit for the ceremony.

It looks great! If you were worried about being too black, perhaps you could put a rich colour cardigan or bolero (also covering the back for the church part if you feel that’s necessary) with it but the dress will also look great on its own.

personally I think it’s too much for a wedding.  for me it looks. like you’re going clubbing, not a wedding.
