    That dress is fucking hideous.

This is a completely dick comment but if someone wore that to a wedding over here People would think that was meant to be a joke… What material is that????

That is one ugly dress but I agree with PP that short of showing up in a white wedding dress, she can wear what she wants.

Aww I don’t think it’s ugly, and I think you will be hard-pressed to care on the wedding day!

I don’t like it personally, but it’s not inappropriate for a wedding.

Lol I actually love the dress and would wear the shit out of it if I could pull off that shade of green. Funny how different people’s styles are!

teacher-bee-in-the-sea :  I mean…what a guest wears to your wedding is really not something you need to be concerning yourself with. Yes, she went to you for advice, so be honest with her: You think it’s a little loud and not your taste. That’s your opinion of it, but trying to sway her into a different dress based off of your feelings towards it is not okay. I can honestly say that, try as she might, I don’t think anyone will really be “stopping and paying attention” to her enough to cause a distraction. You say you are concerned with photos, but I still don’t think that gives anyone the right to tell another person what to wear. If it were wildly inappropriate (see through or too much skin exposed), I would probably agree with you.

However, I think that your gut reaction is to ask her to find a different dress because of her comments and because you feel as if it might detract attention from you. To which, as a past bride, I can not express this enough: That is irrational and ridiculous. Trust me, trust me, trust me. No one is going to give a flying fuck what your guests are wearing.

It’s not my style, but it isn’t inappropriate for a wedding in the spring or summertime.

    I think it’s adorable for a 25 year old.

She openly admits wanting people to stop at look at her? At someone else’s wedding? A bit tacky imo.

That dress hurts my eyes. I would actively try and avoid looking at her for fear of bringing on a focal migraine.

That dress is horrendous. I’d discourage her from wearing it for that reason.

However, if she was in love with it, I wouldn’t push too hard.

I love the style of the dress, but the colour and flowers and that style is an interesting combo, for sure!

To be honest, until I got the photos back, I had no idea who wore what to the wedding- I agree with PP who said sometimes pale colours are ‘worse’ choices as they could look bridal. I feel like it depends how many people are at the weddings, too? In a crowd, you won’t notice… in a group of 15 people? that will probably stand out.
