I originally wanted a short dress for the civil wedding ceremony, to wear with a birdcage veil (since i love old fashioned stuff and FI LOVES birdcage veils), but as I was looking for THE DRESS, i found one I thought it was pretty and my mom loved it so, I told her I’d keep looking but she said she’d bought it, even for the civil ceremony..
Now Im rethinking if I should wear it or go for the short dress??..
This dress is gorgeous, is all beaded to the floor, heavily beaded on the upper part and less beaded as it goes down ..
We’re doing the ceremony and after that, we’re having dinner at a place my FIL rented for the mini reception, just about 20-30 people..
Here is the dress on me, excuse the crappy pictures and the color.. It is actually WHITE, tho it looks ivory because of the room ilumination…
Its a little big since I lost 2 dress sizes since I bought it haha yei! (:

Heck no it’s not too much! Girl, you could wear a ballgown to your civil ceremony. Small or not, this is your WEDDING! You rock whatever you want. And you look amazing in that dress!

My best friend had a civil ceremony at the court house and wore a beautiful long wedding gown. I say go for it girl, its your wedding and the dress is beautiful.

It’s beautiful!! Keep it, it’s not too much but also remember that a ceremony is what you make it! It’s not as if you are wearing a ballgown to the beach (which is a little impractical).
If you love that dress and feel beautiful and confident in it (which, why wouldn’t you?! It’s amazing!) then it will work perfectly for the ceremony.

Thank you so much for your ecouragement, I had doubts cuz here in Brownsville, you don’t get to see a lot of people using long wedding dresses to the courthouse, but i reaaaaaally want to wear it and surprise my FI :3

I really really love your dress. In fact, I kinda want it for myself! I love the silhouette of the neckline and the back.

GORGEOUS! I love the back! I live right by City Hall so I see couples going in for civil ceremonies all the time. There’s a big range of what women wear, so it’s definitely not too much! Plus as others have said, it’s YOUR wedding day. Look fabulous.

It’s absolutely stunning.
You could also easily shorten the skirt, if you wanted, and still have the fabulous beading, etc., flowing down the bodice. It would look perfectly lovely either way, and will go great with a birdcage!
