I am trying to think of a favor that is unique yet edible. My wedding color is mainly going to be pink, so I figured Strawberry Pocky cookies would be an awesome favor to give out to our guests. I am planning to adorn these boxes with a champagne colored (my other wedding color) ribbon and a favor tag with our names and wedding date. However, I am not sure if my guests will think it's tacky since it's still in its original box. Any suggestions?

Is this favor idea tacky or unique? : wedding favors pocky cookies pink Strawberry

I would repackage them personally. Just some clear bags with your ribbon and tag would be really cute! It's a great idea and who doesn't love Pocky?!

I don't think it would be tacky to give them out in their original boxes, but I have never seen them before, so I think they might also be unique too. If I went to your wedding though, I would probably give mine away to someone else or leave it, but only because I don't like anything strawberry, unless it is jam or fresh strawberries. I say, if it fits with your wedding style, go for it.

@bakerella: I was thinking the same thing. Maybe get the bags made for lollipos, that way there aren't any corners or boxy shape to battle.

I love this idea! I think I'd follow the advice of PP and put it in a clear bag... possibly tie the bag with the champagne ribbon. I think people would love it!

I love pocky... so yummy! I think this is a fun favor idea, but I do like Bakerella's idea of using the clear bag and ribbon :)

I thought about Pocky as a favor idea too! Pocky is delish and they look cute. But, as previous posters said, I would also repackage them. A clear bag would show off the unique shape and cute color of the strawberry pocky!

I have never heard of pocky, but I love edible favors and I think it's extra cute if it's in your wedding theme! I'd repackage it though, like other PPs have stated.

Cute!  I love Pocky and I love this idea!  Just put on a fun/quirky tag with a ribbon and call it a day.

Your idea is so adorable and yummy!! I would keep them in the boxes cause they are pretty fragile aren;t they? also that way your guests will know what they are eating (so those who never knew about pocky previous know what they've been missing out on)

I've seen those but never tried them. It's definitely unique but not in a bad way, especially since edibles are best if you must have favors. Instead of repackaging them, cover them in a pretty pink gift wrap. Then you have the option of using them as placecards by adding a name tag to each one.

    I FREAKING LOOOOOOOOOVE POCKY!!

So yummy! good choice for favours!

I agree with PP: Repackage them in a clear bag & tie with a champagne ribbon & pink tag (on the tag you can state what they are) & you're all set to go!

Is the wedding formal or more light hearted?  That would make a big difference, because they're cute, but not necessarily formal.  I think repackaging could be troublesome, but I kind of like of the idea of pink wrapping paper and labels to make them placecards.  Or just pop them in a bag like these and fold over and tape them closed, easier than wrapping.

mrs. glasses did something similar, i think she put the box inside a kraft paper bag!

I used choco pocky but took it out of the box and just wrapped ribbon and a nametag around the foil packaging since it was an escort card.

I would use clear bags and the ribbon and name tag. With the original packaging it is tacky.

I like them and think they're better given in the pink box.

Well I will root for whatever you decide, but I think some cute pink organza bags with a bow....

I dunno its more elegant I suppose if you add bags.

But if your going for fun and carefree then I think your idea is just fine
