Is this favor rude?

posted 3 months ago in Beehive

This is a mock up of the favors I'm making. The maple candies I ordered for them just came in so I about to pack them, but then I started wondering if the phrase "Eat Me" is rude. It's from Alice In Wonderland.

What do you ladies think?  Am I reading too much into it?

Thanks

Is your wedding Alice in Wonderland themed?  Do you have anything else from the movie?

Personally, I think it's funny.  I think most people will get it... those that don't....well, they just need to crawl out from that rock they  have been hiding under!

Go with it.

And PS, they are super cute!

If your friends and family have a sense of humor it should be fine - I'd just be worried about the removal of the signs and the usage thereafter...

Without knowing your friends and family, it's hard to say, but personally, I think it's cute and funny.

I think it's cute.  And for those that will read too much into it, they probably have a raunchy sense of humor anyway!

If you don't mind the labels being used in various humorous ways, go with it. If it's going make you feel weird about your decision, I'd pick something else.

RE: cassiereanne: my wedding doesn't have any theme! is that bad?

I think it's pretty rad. Imagine the photo opps after your guests have had a few drinks.

I have to admit that the first thing I thought when I saw them wasn't good...but within seconds I thought it must be an Alice in Wonderland thing.  I think they're really cute (and a great use of theme), but you have to know that all your guests are going to go the same place I did!

If you are worried about negative connotations, maybe you could make little tags for the glasses on the tables that say "Drink Me" to go along with it. But I think it's cute!

RE: sweetvenus

Great idea! I might do this.

I think they are cute!

On a side note: we had little pots of herbs with labels in them that said "take me home".  They ended up in so many people's lapels, dresses, etc--we thought it was hilarious!

I had the same thought sweetvenus did!  I love this.  I think you could also do "take me" at the escort card table.  I definitely love the Alice In Wonderland aspect - so fun!

you could also do a tie in and hang tags that say "drink me" on the wine bottles or whatever drink you are serving.  That way if anyone says anything about them you can look at them like they are a perv and say its "Alice in Wonderland, duh?"  If you can say all that without laughing it would be even better!

Wow, those are really adorable, and I *love* the idea of carrying the theme throughout, you could have so much fun with it!

What about adding a cute clipart of an Alice in Wonderland illustration to make it really obvious?
