This is the dress (Monique Lhuillier “Miranda”) I have been eyeing lately (i originally didn’t want lace but now i have fallen for it), but looking at this gown in every photo I see it is a daytime outdoor wedding. My outdoor wedding will begin at about 5:30 pm and will primarily be an eveing event so I am now wondering whether this gown is too far on the casual side? The winery is a pretty casual spot (not Napa valley!) in the Madera Wine trail near Fresno. I don’t want to be too fancy just because it isn’t really a super fancy venue, but it IS my wedding so I want to be appropraitely dressed. I like the one with the latte slip (you can get the silk underslip in ivory or latte). I just LOVE the deep v in the front and back. If anyone knows of a gown that also has this please let me know.
I have a wide waist and all th gowns I try on look 100x better once i throw a belt or sash on and this gown doesn’t have sashes or belts in most of he photos (I wonder if that’s because there are seam lines under the breasts which might make a belt at the natural waist look weird). Anyway if I could wear a somewhat blingy belt it would dress it up. Thanks!!!!

I think it’s gorgeous!! Not too casual at all.

Not too casual at all. I actually think it’s perfect. Besides, the bride is never over-dressed! Gorgeous dress.

Not too casual at all! Stunning. I think your accessories can definitely dress it up if you’re worried.

I also think that it would work perfectly for an evening winery wedding! Some sparkly accesories and you are good to go!

No, I think that’s a perfect type of dress for that venue.

Thanks Ladies! I’m sure you’ll see some pics of me in it when I get to try in on in San Diego in 10 days. I am soooo excited.

GORGEOUS Dress !!
I think it would be perfect for an Evening Vineyard / Winery Wedding (These types of Wedding Setting tend to be STUNNING BTW, I’ve been to several)
Do you have some sort of cover-up in mind in case there is a chill in the air… perhaps a unique wrap just to loosly lie about your shoulders ? Maybe not for the Ceremony itself, but afterwards (cocktails on the patio ?)

@mlleviolette: I definitely don’t think that’s too casual! It’s fairly similar to my dress, and I’m having a full blown Catholic ceremony at 7:30 pm! Also – I totally know what you mean about the seams under the bust, but trust me it doesn’t make the sash at the natural waist look strange!
Can’t wait to see pitctures once you try it on!

It’s definitely not too casual, however I’m inclined to agree with the concept of the seams. Dresses like this seems to be more on the “unstructured” side through the bodice, and there needs to be some sort of boning not to have a lacy dress “bunch up.” Especially when there are discrete seems below the bust and you’re adding an anchor point at the waist.
If you like the deep cuts with a little drama, but not too crazy “bridal,” here are some of my faves 🙂
HayleyPaige 6362 – not lace…
Jim Hjelm 8359
Tara Keely 2304 and 2306
Lazaro 3314 – not lace either…
Rosa Clara Canela or Montana

@This Time Round: I’ll prob bring something just in case, but the weather in California’s central valley at the end of may will be either hot or hotter:)
It won’t be cool like the coastal wine regions.

I decided on alvina valenta 9102, gorgeous lace, structured bodice. A lot similar to the monique lhuillier Miranda looks way more flattering on me I think. Here is a link to some pics of me in it.
