Your base prices are definitely reasonable. I don't know about the airbrush makeup but I would assume it's more expensive due to what is required (and they would need the same for the trial and the actual day).
For the extensions, it's normal that you buy them yourself (and $90 is about right). Is there any way you can buy them before the wedding day and practice and learn to place them yourself? I have some that I bought for my boudoir photos and I wear them when I go out (they're simple once you get the hang of it). Also, are you doing your hair up or down? If you're doing an updo, my stylist actually told me not to wear the extensions because they're more easily seen and they'll make your head extremely sore.
My bm's hair is the same, $100. Mine is $150, and if I want extensions it is an additional $320! I don't have to provide them, but I do have to pay for them.
In regards to makeup, maybe a little high? My base is 75 for the bm's, add 10 for airbrush.
My makeup, airbrush or not, is $150. All trials are $50, airbrush or not. I am using a pretty well-regarded makeup artist for my area also, she has done a lot of celebrity makeup, if that helps for a comparison.
I think the base prices seem reasonable. The airbrush seems a little high. Mine was an additional $30 at the trial, and nothing additional the day of. I don't know anything about extensions, but it seems pricey to me.
Thanks for the speedy input! I think I may just keep looking. The stylist put incorrect info on my contract, and that made me nervous. ...and while I want to look my best on my wedding day, I can't justify spending that much just on me!
@milesbella: Thanks for the info about updo versus down. The stylest didn't mention that. I want half up half down... maybe I should do more research before committing.
I think the base prices are about average.. Its the extras that will get you everytime.
@organizedbride11: I'm totally down with the base prices. I think they're great! But geez... an extra $240 is just too much. Perhaps I should change what I'm looking for.
I got married in Tampa and so my makeup/ hairstylist was from there. And I think for the area the amount seems average. I paid $125 for hair and makeup and $50 extra to upgrade to airbrush so a total for me of $175.00. And then with a signed contract the trial was free/ included. I did not go with one of the companies everyone recommends (on the other wedding sites) because it seemed like thier websites were never updated and all their pics looked dated to me... AND they seemed expensive. I searched for someone that I liked thier style and was cost effective for us. My 2 ladies were $100 each for hair and makeup and my moms hair was $40.
ETA I just looked at my contract and I did pay an extra $50 for the trial for airbrush but other than that the trial was free.
@pinkb: Can I ask who you used and were you happy?
I used Beauty Brought Out, her name is Julissa, it is her own business and she has her studio in her house. She was really great and friendly. She was on time and had everything she needed and more. Brought her ipad and looked up the pictures of the styles my sisters wanted because we forgot the pics. I can't say enough good things about her, she was fantastic. Everyone was very pleased with everyhting and it is a hard crowd to please when it comes to hair and makeup! (and she even made a mistake on my contrat at first..lol)
@pinkb: That's who I'm working with. You have such kind things to say about her! I just asked about the extensions, and she said that we could try the 'do without them first and add them if necessary, so I'm going to do that. Thanks for your help!
google gigmasters.com for your area- and check for a make up person.. and in this economy NEGOTIATE.
Everything sounds normal. I've never heard of a free trial with airbrushing.

When I get my hair cut, I just get it cut. This world of up-dos and bridal makeup is foreign to me. This pricing seems a little crazy to me, but I want to see if y'all think this is normal.
The bridesmaids are $100 each for hair and makeup. I'm totally down with this; I think this is reasonable.
For me though... I realize I want extras, but this seems like highway robery to me!
Base price for bride hair/makeup- $125
Airbrush makeup- Add $50 at trial, and add $50 dollars on the day
Extensions (clip ins)- $50 to trim and place. Plus, I have to purchase them separately-- she quoted me $90.
So, just for me... the total is $365. If I just do normal hair and makeup, it's $125. I was fine with adding $100 for the extensions and airbrush, but then she told me I had to pay for the airbrush each time she did and provide the extensions. I have long but fine hair, and I don't know if my hair will support the look I want.
Truly, I don't know the cost of any of this. Does this seem normal, or should I keep looking? She just told me she has another bride interested in my day. I haven't signed a contract yet.
Thanks for any input!!!
