I LOVE the colors and the general idea. I do feel like it’s too many fonts. I think that each section should be one font, though all the sections could be different from one another. Does that make sense? Like “saturday twelfth october two thousand and twelve at four o’clock in the afternoon” should be one font, for example.

    1. your date is wrong

    2. I would write “Together with Mammi & Pappi and Oma & Opa Saurusrex”

    3. I would center the part with the address, and you need an apostrophe in bride: bride’s family home

    4. I would write, “Rockpool Cafe, Corner of the Esplanade & Boardwalk” to avoid abbreviating anything.

    5. I am confused — is there a garden picnic at the bride’s family home?

I am just picking things out…it looks great, I like the colors, and it’s busy but not too busy for me.

I don’t think it’s a hot mess! I actually really like the concept and agree with some of the above comments on it.  I think the invite has potential – I love the colors, and agree that there should be less fonts.

I really like the general design and especially love the colors! However, I’m not particularly fond of the date font or the wording “Saturday Twelfth October.” I think it’s also slightly confusing that it says followed by a garden picnic and then also says casual dinner to follow. Are you having both a picnic and a dinner afterwards??

@MrsDinosaur:  I think it’s lovely but you could stand to lose a couple of fonts, specifically in the middle section. There are just so many styles that it’s kind of hard to read. Also, ‘the brides…’ is missing an apostrophe, it should say ‘the bride’s’. Apart from those little things I really do like it.

The middle section is very hard to read in one flowing eye movement. I’d definitely change the whole section to one font. Maybe different sizes for each “piece” (time vs location)

And yeah, make sure you say 2013 instead of 2012!

I agree with the comments above about the fonts. I also think that the “thirty minutes past six” is a bit awkward. I’d just put 6:30pm or six thirty pm if you want to write it out.

I like the layout and the colors! 🙂

I think it’s great however I do agree that there are WAY too many fonts. When I first scrolled down at it, my eyes were looking all over the place instead of reading it from top to bottom. I didn’t even see the parents’ names at the top.

Way too busy – I couldn’t concentrate on the whole thing because there are so many different fonts and the layout is a little confusing.  I like the concept, but I believe this could be executed in a much cleaner fashion.

Looks good other than the date issue and the fact that there’s too many fonts (I believe the rule of thumb is never more than three fonts).

Alright, so I am a graphic designer 😛 (Kind of, technically I’m an animator, but I have training in graphic design as well.)

    1. Too many fonts. I do like your font choices, but try to narrow it down some and use one font for each section.

    2. Make sure that your margins are the same size. Like the spaces betweent the dotted lines and your text, they need to be the same size on the bottom and top.

    3. Make sure there are no typos and that everything is worded correctly.

I really like your color choice and overall the design is nice! Those are just a few things to consider 🙂
