If you are worried about them being too girly, perhaps you could make the background color something other than pink? I like the overall style a lot and I think it fits into your theme nicely - but I personally think pink is a little too feminine for a wedding invite that includes both a bride & a groom. I know my FI wouldn't love it if our wedding invitations were mostly pink, but perhaps your FI doesn't care! Even a lighter shade of blush pink would look better, IMHO.
P.S. Just wanted to point out that on the Reply Card back, you are missing the "c" in "Decline with Regret" under Wedding & Reception. Not sure if you caught that!
@Ms Bookworm: thanks for the input! FI doesn't really care either way and although I'm not a huge fan of pink it's actually become our main color so it seemed fitting, I can try other colors though. And THANKS SO MUCH for that spelling catch, I didn't notice that (and probably wouldn't have!).
As someone who loves pink, I commend your choice of colour! However, I do agree with the PP that maybe a lighter blush pink would be better. I also think that the "crackled" look of the background takes away from your wording a bit. It would look amazing in a solid light pink colour!
I do love your swirly fonts, they look gorgeous.
And one more typo: the date on your invite says "Two thousand and Eleven" instead of 2012.
Good luck with your invites! I think that you're on the right track with them :)
I think the pink looks nice! If you love it, I say go for it, especially if it's your main wedding color.
Take this with a grain of salt because I'm obsessed with clean, modern lines, but I feel like it's too busy. The textured background, the super swirly font and the various colours are throwing me off. Perhaps lighten up the main taupe background a few shades and make it less "cracked" looking, as PPs have put it. I also think I'd like the swirly font a lot better if it were more of a matching colour like a chocolate brown or even black.
I certainly don't get the "rustic" vibe from these. They do look a little too fairy-taleish for your theme.
@Great Gatsby: HAHA this is what happens when you make your invites late at night!! Thanks for catching that one as well!
@Aure: thanks for your input, that is one thing I was worried about. I'm not a huge fan of modern and clean lines (for my wedding at least) but I thought it might be borderline too busy. Thanks!
@o0olibelulao0o: I NEVER look forward to the New Year in a way, because trust me, I will be writing "2011" on everything until at least March!
It fits the theme but it is a little girlie. Maybe you can change the background to a solid white. You can then add a classic ribbon to the invites to ass a little touch of your theme.
I like the style and it fits with your inspiration boards, but the pink is too much. Solid white or maybe a light shade of green?
@mittens111211: I tried it with ivory and didn't like it, and the other color for my wedding is blue which also didn't look right... Thanks for the advice though.
I think if you changed the background colour it would make a huge difference on the "girly" front , I think they are very nice.
@Aure: I agree with you on this. I really like the look of clean lines and this is a little bit busy.
I would try changing the background colour to something darker so there's more of a contrast between the background and the brown box. You might also want to see what it looks like without the white pattern in the background.
I think it is a bit busy and don't really think it goes with your theme at all...I agree with the other poster that said it looks kind of fairy taleish.
What if you dropped either the texture or the border/frame thing? Honestly there is a lot going on with them.
It does look a little more fairy taleish. I'm also not really digging the pink, navy blue, brown and black altogether. It doesn't seem to "flow" properly. And with the theme of your wedding (which looks AWESOME and AMAZING) I think you can do a little better.
Sorry :/
@kate169: @Legallyblondiebride: @As_You_Wish: Thanks for the honest input! The colors came out a bit brighter on here than on my actual document... But just to clear things up, all of the lettering and border are brown and the fancy font is blue so all of those match even though it doesn't look like it when they are little on a screen. :) And I tried it without the cream flowery things and it just looked too plain, but I have edited them a bit since then, I agree that it was a bit busy. :) I also don't mind it being a bit fairytale-ish though. :)
If ya'll could check out the updated thread and let me know what you think that would be awesome!!
@kate169: no worries! I should have posted it on this thread when I made it. :)
I personally don't think it looks too girly. At least the pink is more of a "desert rose" and not neon or hot pink or anything like that! It fits in with your theme perfectly.

Obviously it would have the actual information... but is this invite TOO girlie for a rustic chic country elegance wedding?
(a few inspiration boards for reference)
So what do ya'll think? Do they fit or are they too girly and fancy??
